anybody who is not a trump cultist should be able to recognize it as just that. its still pretty shocking that so many in this country want to minimize what happened on january 6th.

at the minimum, trump should be in federal prison right now. everyone who stormed the capitol should be spending at least a few years in prison.

by not holding those traitors accountable we are encouraging them to do it again and the next time they might be successful.

Obviously those black patriots could just point at the precedent of violence from other insurrections to absolve themselves from any accountability.

Fox News Hosts Sent Texts to Mark Meadows During Jan. 6 Attack - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Afterward, on their shows, Laura Ingraham spread the false claim of antifa involvement, and Sean Hannity referred to the 2020 election as a “train wreck.”

Three prominent Fox News anchors sent concerned text messages on Jan. 6 to Mark Meadows, the last chief of staff for President Donald J. Trump, urging him to persuade the president to take the riot seriously and to make an effort to stop it.

The texts were made public on Monday, shortly before the House committee scrutinizing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol voted 9-0 in favor of recommending that Mr. Meadows be charged with contempt of Congress. Representative Liz Cheney, Republican of Wyoming, read the text messages aloud.

The texts, part of a trove of 9,000 documents that Mr. Meadows had turned over before he stopped cooperating with the inquiry, were sent to the former White House chief of staff by Laura Ingraham, the host of the nighttime show “The Ingraham Angle”; Sean Hannity, a longtime prime-time host who once appeared onstage with Mr. Trump at a campaign rally; and Brian Kilmeade, a host of the morning show “Fox & Friends.”

“Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home,” Ms. Ingraham wrote. “This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy.”

Mr. Kilmeade echoed that concern, texting Mr. Meadows: “Please, get him on TV. Destroying everything you have accomplished.”

Sean Hannity texted: “Can he make a statement? Ask people to leave the Capitol.”

Ms. Ingraham’s text came in contrast with what she said on her Fox News program in the hours after the attack, when she promoted the false theory that members of antifa were involved.

    Even his son

Read the texts Mark Meadows received during the Jan. 6 siege : NPR

These texts leave no doubt: the White House knew exactly what was happening at the Capitol. Republican members of Congress and others wrote to Mark Meadows as the attack was underway:

-"Hey, Mark, protestors are literally storming the Capitol. Breaking windows on doors. Rushing in. Is Trump going to say something?"

-"We are under siege up here at the Capitol."

    -"They have breached the Capitol."

-"There's an armed standoff at the House Chamber door."

    -"We are all helpless."

Dozens of texts, including from Trump administration officials, urged immediate action by the President:

-"POTUS has to come out firmly and tell protestors to dissipate. Someone is going to get killed"

-"Mark, he needs to stop this. Now"

    -"TELL THEM TO GO HOME"

-"POTUS needs to calm this s*** down."

Indeed, according to the records, multiple Fox News hosts knew the President needed to act immediately. They texted Meadows that:

-"Hey Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home...this is hurting all of us...he is destroying his legacy." Laura Ingraham wrote.

-"Please get him on tv. Destroying everything you have accomplished." Brian Kilmeade wrote.

-"Can he make a statement?...Ask people to leave the Capitol." Sean Hannity urged.

As the violence continued, one of the President's sons texted Meadows:

"He's got to condemn this s*** Asap. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough." Donald Trump, Jr. texted.

Meadows responded: "I'm pushing it hard. I agree."

Still, President Trump did not immediately act.

Donald Trump, Jr. texted again and again, urging action by the President:

"We need an Oval address. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand."

But hours passed without the necessary action by the President.

For the past 8 months or so I’ve been trying to invoke some sort of response like “look i support Democracy” or “how dare you. Of course I still support free and fair elections” etc. by calling them out directly and the only response I think I’ve gotten was to call me a Jeremy Lin Only fan. Most of the time it’s as if they really do not care and it’s a yeah… so what?? response.

If any Democrats still think the other side wants to engage in a truly Democratic process in any way they are fooling themselves. They will sanction anything and everything to feel like their side secured minority rule for generations.

In true orange man style there was no plan..

Just imagine an actual plan. Don't think for a second all these rogue groups and nations are watching this orgasming at the idea of a next time. Imagine more than just lost souls, cosplay and a few mad rednecks. Imagine a state run operation.

Regardless of how you feel about orange or anyone else the threat should be viewed in state sponsored terms and this should all be addressed outside of orange and in general.
    But it won't be..
That's the scary part and by the looks of it Al qaida or any group really could have waltzed in and held all of senate hostage , killed pence etc..
If Im Al qaida or similar Im looking at this and salivating.
What happened to hindsight? We need to fix all these stupid vp certify loopholes and all the state shenanigans. And we need to fix how security and process at Congress handled on and before certify so there is none of this garbage.

These are not huge legislative mountains or that hard

I think Al Qaeda knows that they wouldn’t have a memo with strict orders from the Secretary of Defense to the national guard that Al Qaeda is to be protected and they are not allowed to use any type of assets like drones, surveillance, weapons, etc. in the event of a conflict.

That is exactly what happened in this case when Chris Miller sent that memo the day before ordering a stand down that could only be reversed by Trump himself which ultimately Pence was able to get around having the powers to do so which has always been interesting. Was Pence given temporary 25th amendment powers we don’t know about? I always found that odd.

In any sense yes Al Qaeda or whomever has to be flabbergasted at how bad security is at the Capital and I don’t doubt that there might be some attempts plotted in the future but the fact is this was orchestrated from the inside, and if the Capital under normal circumstances can be guarded like Fort Knox. This was a coup attempt and it’s not even a question anymore. Did some people on the inside want murder of cops and human crap smeared on the walls?? No… but every single one of them had the same goal of overturning a free and fair election regardless.

In any other country Trump would be in prison for life along with half the executive branch and about 30 members of Congress. Actually… if history offers any point of reference someone like Trump doing what he did normally would have cost him his life that night. This will unfortunately happen again because of this shrug of a response.

Also, Orange Hair's stupid son, Fredo Trump , who was too timid to call his father, had frantically texted Meadows to
get the elder trust fund baby to do something to stop the insurrectionists

We have mostly all weighed in. What else do you want us to say a year later?

    False.

im glad somone in those hearings finally called january 6th what it was - treason.

and im glad they specifically brought up what the punishment for treason is - death.

those responsible must be held accountable or else it will definitely happen again.

also, how pathetic is it that donnie junior was texting meadows instead of his father. it really highlights what kind of relationship they have...little donnie cant even speak to his father directly...or he was too scared to.

fat boy is definitely going to have something to say about all those texts from his son and fox news anchors and he is not going to be happy.
