ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Hawks 12/13/2021

I almost felt sorry for Young. Seemed like everything he tossed up went in. He was screaming in frustration after the buzzer. They fell to 13-14 on the season. Meanwhile, we seem to win games we aren't supposed to win. Crazy.

Eric Gordon entered the Wayback Machine. He was hitting those deep threes like he used to do on a regular basis, playing bully ball driving to the basket. On one drive, two Hawks players went flying like 9 pins, the layup goes in. I'm assuming we're going to deal him to a contender by the deadline. If we do, we better get one heck of a return.

 

Even the two losses we were right there - one against the defending champs and the other against a hot team on the road back to back. But it's not even just about the wins and the losses. It's how we're playing. You just love this kind of basketball where everybody plays hard. Somebody steps up every night. Garry Bird sort of coming back to earth and Armoni injured(?) but like you said, Nwaba, KMJ and DJ coming through.

I don't mention Sengun because by now, everybody knows. EVERYBODY KNOWS

 

I always felt that our Houston Rockets would beat the Hawks in this game. An awesome win! The youngsters can learn how to keep their poise when they're down.

 

Man if you're the Hawks, you're off to a disappointing start to the season. Normally when a young team has an impressive showing in the playoffs, you want to build on that and prove it wasn't a fluke. 13-14 isn't the start they had in mind. Things can change quickly in the NBA

I want Green to come back so I have something to get excited about other than Sengun and Christopher's minutes. lol

 

Yeah its crazy because I'd say this was a "bad" game for him. He had 2 blocks too.

 

I remember watching the game vs the Hawks many years back where we led by double-digits the whole game until Tim Hardaway Jr. went ballistic on us in the 4th quarter.

Today our entire squad was Tim Hardaway Jrs. And I gotta say, boy does it feel sublime being on the other side of that.

 

I want both him and KPJ to come back and fit in, not go one vs 5 and screw the chemistry up.

I worry about KPJ's turnovers and Green's terrible defense - we have lowered our turnovers a ton, and are playing competitive team defense.

They both have things to prove, IMHO.

Was not expecting a comeback year from Eric Gordon. I suppose its good that he has rehabbed his trade value, but we can't be dropping 50 in 4th quarters to steal wins.

The Hawks are terrible outside Young.
