Tate is pretty cool but his type is easier to find than Wood's 18 and 10.

Tate is going to be kept because he doesn't command near max money.

I guess I view Tate as more unique and more like a Scottie Barnes, someone who can defend, score, and distribute in a high character, thicc body.

While Wood seems more like a mercurial, good counting stats type of player.

I view Tate as once in a 15 games type of scorer.

Scottie Barnes with his upside better outscore that......

I doubt the Rockets are a serious contender in the next 2 years so keeping Wood 2 more years, is a state I can live with.

"Score" vs "scorer". I just think Tate does a bunch of things well or good while Wood is the opposite.

I'm not looking for mediocrity though so I don't see the point in being so. I think we are underestimating how much better the next group of teams are that are competing for the play-in.

You keep Wood, then you are no longer rebuilding and building up your assets. Trying to rebuild and have Wood is going to be too fine of a line.

I just do not believe posts that say Wood is the hottest commodity on the market, in fact, I am sure he can only be effective in certain surroundings.

Haven't seen such posts, but Wood isn't the most sought after player in the league...... despite what some of his supporters think about his abilities.

So you think Wood is most valuable to a rebuilding team or a team in the bottom half of the league?

I am also the wrong person to ask because I have literally no opinion of that man.

I cannot say ill things about him because then he would emerge with star level stats.

That guy is a mystery to me but I won't bet on him because he is 26, about to be 27 and still has not played one single Playoff game.

    That is rare.

Tate is now Scottie Barnes equivalent.

Okie dokie…. Saying the situation/player is “rare” or “wouldn’t bet on” seems like having an opinion but to each their own!

Lol. Because I said they are “equivalent”….

How about you Wood lovers just stick with “top 5 unique player, but not a top 5 player or a franchise player”.

The Wood love is a bit curious

Of course he is going to thrive with a star PG. There is no doubt here.

You could have a young CP3 on a rebuilding team though, just saying.

It hinges on the personnel of the rebuilding team or the veteran team.

Wood does not have the very high usage % of a typical mercurial, good counting stats type of player that is just padding the conventional stats on a losing team. Wood to me looks like he will excel offensively with an on-ball star player that can create.

What is the usage rate of such a player? Wood hovers around mid 20% while Vucevic hovers around high 20%. I didn't say he was stat padding, but that it was more empty calories.

We brought Wood into play with an on-ball star player that can create but he's gone. Do you see one on the team? Maybe? Are we going to wait and see or go get one? Doesn't seem like an easy situation to recreate since other teams would also like a star creator.

If it works for team, I will.

Thanks for trying to follow along.

    Definite points for perseverance.

You just haven't been able to explain why the Sixers wouldn't want our best win now players. Not too special coming up with untenable trade proposals.
