That is also already illegal and punishable by fine and imprisonment. The issue is catching those people. Catching the guys that carry the guns is just done in a traffic stop or while they are caught committing another crime. Catching people that are just building and selling guns, you have to either flip someone or have some sort of surveillance program that is able to catch the transactions (maybe looking at banking transactions). That isn't to say you can't do it, but the state is already going after those people and they stand to not only lose money but also be locked up, and we still see ghost guns popping up all the time. Ultimately it is hard to outlaw a jig and raw polymer, literally illegal shapes and materials, and that is what the big corporations are selling.

Might as well put it here instead of that 666 thread because this is a nutter Con problem that needs to be slapped down unless they try something similar again.

The irony is that a hypothetical version of the gun ban under Texas law would not be struck down under this Judge's ruling...

Newsom wants to model a bunch of new crappy California laws after a crappy Texas law. Brilliant!

It's really upon scrotus to untangle their unborn red headed baby.

I have no doubt it'll overload the court system as the Texas law intended, but that's the symptom and not the cause.

Don't know Turley's take on the currently stalled Texas law, but when one side weaponizes the law, you have to make it painful for everyone or it'll just continue.

There's a reason why the both Testaments are included in the Bible...

Also, it's clockwork for someone like Turley to cry and moan about indecency when he knows the other side is retaliating at a fight they didn't start.

Oh noes libs starting to get nastier or might get the upper hand...time to heal and forgive, pweeeeeeeseee!!

Is it ultimately the gun companies though? Like is that a huge issue, gun companies selling guns under the table in California (as opposed to people going to another state and then bringing them in)?

Like, seems like if you're going to get an "illegal abortion" you'd try to go to doctors who just don't agree with the Texas law VS if you're buying an illegal gun you go to the people who have historically sold illegal guns (and was already illegal and have a pretty firm no snitching rule around them).

I just wonder how any of these laws really will impact day to day life.

if you weren't so preoccupied with calling him names and took the time to read what he writes, you might be able to answer your own question ;)

So Turley says the California law won't work because the Texas law sucks. Is this news? That's the whole point Turley. It's a win-win for Newsom. Either the courts do the right thing or California back-doors more gun control.

Oh, he's biased alright. I figure you read up on him the most and may know. ps. I did scan for it and wasn't able to find his opinion on the TX abortion bill as 'crappy'
