Sanders has to use the "extremely" qualifier because he owns multiple houses

Yes because when people refer to wealthy people not paying their fair share we are referring to 80 year olds who saved up from a decent salary career for 50+ years of work to own 2 homes totalling 1-2 million dollars in bet worth.

That's a great introduction and sounds about right. His rocket business, SpaceX, faces genuine risk of bankruptcy due to production issues, according to Musk himself.

"The richest man in the world does not own a house and has recently been selling off his fortune. He tosses satellites into orbit and harnesses the sun; he drives a car he created that uses no gas and barely needs a driver. With a flick of his finger, the stock market soars or swoons. An army of devotees hangs on his every utterance. He dreams of Mars as he bestrides Earth, square-jawed and indomitable. Lately, Elon Musk also likes to live-tweet his poops."

“He is a humanist—not in the sense of being a nice person, because he isn’t,” says Robert Zubrin, founder of the Mars Society, who met Musk in 2001, when the young, newly minted dot-com millionaire sent a large unsolicited check to the organization. “He wants eternal glory for doing great deeds, and he is an asset to the human race because he defines a great deed as something that is great for humanity. He is greedy for glory. Money to him is a means, not an end. Who today evaluates Thomas Edison on the basis of which of his inventions turned a profit?”

Person of the year isn't about if someone is good or bad. Both Hitler and Stalin won. It's about who has the most influence for better or worse.

A lot of times the person represents something they feel is influential, Musk, if yuo read the article about him here, is the same. Musk isn't terribly influential either but they are saying people like him are.

They were saying the same thing about Greta. Whether people want to admit it or not, her generation is concerned about the planet they will be receiving and she represents that.

Speaking of both, Musk is a big fan of Greta.

Just saying, person of the year isn't a 'award' or anything it's just who Time thinks was the most influential person that year and moving forward.

People seem confused as if it's meant as some lifetime achievement award or something.

dang, I was so proud to be part of “You” Time person of the year

It also doesn’t have to be a person. The Computer, The Endangered Earth were also Time person of the year.
