He is the son of Paul SIlas but why, just another dude who wants to prove himself, the league is full of them.

If you could get your hands on another star from the next draft, I would not call it a failure.

21-5 with 6:15 left in the 1st. Wood-Theis is an albatross to every player forced to be on the floor with them. It even had Gary Bird looking like a G-Leaguer on a 2 way contract. Maybe Silas didn’t notice how it completely destroyed KPJ and Green earlier this season or that just wasn’t enough. I’m struggling to make it make sense. The only thing I can come up with is he wanted to see if it could work with better shooters starting at the guard spots since both Mathews and Augustine shoot better than 38% for their careers. Well 21-5 happened anyways. Against a Grizzlies squad with no Ja Morant and no Jaren Jackson Jr.

Wood-Theis should never been seen again…

unless we’re trying to lose on purpose

we coulda been on a 9 wins streak now if he would just not play dumb... we dont need an offensive genius just a normal coach rotations

this is the problem with dumbanalytics...they want everybody to shoot 3s and as a result people do poor job ion fundamentals and what they are best at

people wonder why wood dont improve screen setting and othe fundamental things , passing, low iq etc ect...BUT why would he?
    think about it?

because alpi does that ALL THAT WELL and he is still punished with a scarce PT just because wood can shoot 3s
IMHO LATELY ALPI IS TAKING A SLACK ON DEFENSE BECAUSE HE SAW IT IS NOT BEING REWARDED

Gordon sitting means we were tanking - end of story.

yep they prolly got a call from adam silver at 1-17 to pick up a slack a bit and not be too obvious...he probably approved them tanking in return for trading harden but dont want them to be so obvious about that....

    NBA IS A JOKE

Most of his defensive rebounds are uncontested because when the opponents hit the glass he boxes his man out while Wood or KJ goes for the rebound. (Talk about a run-on sentence.)
    Poor stats, good basketball.
He doesn't chase offensive rebounds at every possession anymore. Maybe he saw he was getting ticky-tack offensive fouls and is holding back, or maybe he's learning to conserve his energy.
    Again: poor stats, good basketball.

Really hope Silas is trying to tank and is not actually that bad of a coach, but that would be problematic in its own way because I think tanking is the job of the front office, not the coach and players.

It's hard to say for sure. Silas definitely has no track record of being a good coach, dating back to his interim coach days.

We need somebody to have this hard and yet overdue conversation with Silas.

    Silas: “That is so Theis!”

Nobody: “Silas, stop trying to make Theis happen! It’s not going to happen”

    Silas: (sad face)

For defensive purposes it may not benefit us for him to play 30 mins, hence Milwaukee game

It amazes me Tilman basically comes out and says he wants to tank for a better pick

and folks come in here and mad (Silas) manipulates the lineups - damn if he do , damn if he don’t

He is literally one of the top 2 defenders on the team. You need to get over your weird bias towards him, it’s a little suspect.

I certainly agree with you, poor stat, good basketball. Alp does the dirty job and the others get the credit but there were at least 3 positions Alp should got the rebound easily yesterday. In a 7 points game take 3 possession from Memphis and give 3 to Rockets (40%field goal averages), we might end up with a different result.

I am not saying Alp should be a rebound machine but it seems that 2 bigs playtime will be limited till Usman Garuba progresses and as opponents score too much "second chances", few more defensive rebounds will be beneficial. Otherwise I will be happy to witness an NBA Big having higher assists than rebounds. More double-double in points/assists than points/rebounds.

they definitely know when to lose and how to lose, Grizzlies game is the very case indicating they are intentionally to lose even at the cost of 'winning games today', 'fighting for ROY' and 'bring fans back to the bowl'.

obviously our talents right there (Sengun, Green, Tate, JayGup, GM n Brooks),
just not yet enough to flourish, guess the front office dun't think it's the right time (a few pieces away) to declare 'rockets ready to contend'.

i just hope they won't shy away from beating Cavs,
that 100% not an ez game, but we should not prepare to lose that one. that one for Sengod.

Man, Suggs really Sukks... I didnt want him at #2, but never thought he'd struggle so much...
Jalen Green has a chance of JOY at least (Jalen of the Year)... Not sure where Jalen Johnson is on the graph, though...

How many times have we seen Sengun challenge or block a shot just to turn around and watch the follow-up dunk by some other guy, just because nobody on our team boxes out?

i would say at least once or twice per game

add to it bogus rookie fouls and a lot of alpis work goes wasted...hes a very good defensive player
