NBA does not really make sense for everyone.

    It is a messy process.

At least you know the late picks can play.

    Christopher too.

In Silas's defense, when Sengun plays over 20 minutes, he usually has 5 fouls. However, there have been several games where his minutes were reduced without really being in foul trouble, so I'm not sure if that's entirely behind it.

alpi fouling rate is 6 per 36 min
so fouls absolutely has nothing to with it

I agree, these are valid points and you're bringing supporting evidence for your ideas, I appreciate that.

I will say I'm hopeful because he's improving over time as rookies do, and if we play the same teams again towards the end of the season I would like to compare how his game has evolved.

Also his per 36 minutes projections are promising, but I agree he has to prove that by actually playing those minutes, which he can do by not fouling (he averages over six fouls, per 36) or turning the ball over (he has the second highest per 36 turnover rate on the team, next to KPJ who handles the ball much more as the PG), and increased stamina.

But his 3pt shooting his improving, he's shooting almost 36% 3PT for the season in the NBA, from shooting 19% 3PT in the Turkish League on less volume.

I think over his full career he has potential to become that 20pt 10reb and 5 ast guy, but it's true he has to actually develop over the years to prove it.

    LOLOL stop the doubt
hed be that guy this year already easily if silas would just let him play and stop playing nwaba and danuel house alongside him and tell ego, tate and wood to just give him the ball because they aint playmakers...

silas isnt allowing him to get into any kind of rhytmh and hes still doing all this...
i understand all the caution but man you are really insulting sengun

(The 36% were happening earlier, during the 7 game winning streak, he shot 70% against the Bulls and only 17%-20% in the next 6 games. The problem did not lie in the efficiency, but the attempts, he only attempts 1-3 per game, that is by far not enough for his rainbow shots)

It was actually because I wanted to understand Silas' thinking.

There were only so many reasons.

    Stamina, Fouling, Spacing.

I felt that Spacing was the most reasonable and most glaring reason he only got 16 minutes. And probably Silas is scared of Giannis.

The Sengun minutes are lower b/c he still isn't as good as Wood (despite having more potential) and the Rockets finally realized they are god awful with 2 bigs on the floor.

Alperkeem Sengajuwon deserves his own threads. Notice the s. It is vital to the point I'm making here and it's quite sharp. No server in the world could contain all the school Alperkeem can and will teach. It's like saying universities should only offer one class that teaches you everything they offer.

More school. More minutes. More number 28. More passing. More spinning. More scoring. More teaching. ----> More. Threads.

    MOAR good!
    LESS cynicism!

You are correct. I will make a thread for every cool pass he does.

Sengun is the definition of "quick but not fast". You don't have to be explosive when you can change directions like this. His hip flexibility and agility right here are impressive for anyone but for a kid that size? That's special. He's not explosive but he can zig and zag like a mfkr.

Exactly, he’s quick and he’s quick off the floor. Not ridiculously explosive but enough of an athlete to play in the league.
Fluid, quick, flexible and coordinated. With great vision and IQ. You take that all day

    Great points!

His turnovers are more concerning than him not taking enough 3's.

You can't think about cheating even a tiny bit when he posts up because of his elite vision and passing. It's either let Sengun take a 1v1 post up which is a very efficient option, or let shooters and cutters fly around and get open looks. This kid is the future of the Rockets and we need to be running the offense through him almost entirely. Also no reason why he should sit in crunch time vs the Bucks
