Wow, what a game. This win streak has really changed how I think about this team. The great thing about it is that everyone is stepping up. Yeah, Gordon's playing great, but so is Sengun, KJ (aside from a rough stretch tonight), Matthews, Brooks, Augustin, Wood, and at least tonight, Christopher. You want to develop young players in an environment where they get real minutes in competitive games and can contribute, not coming in at the end of blowouts or just putting them out there on a team that sucks to lose game after game. Somehow, this team is now doing that with a number of young players. When Green and Garuba return, hopefully we'll see more of a youth movement that feels more like an up and coming team vs. the Thunder or Pistons which look like they have another year, maybe two of rebuilding ahead of them. I think this team will come down to earth. Someone will trade a first for Gordon, I think. Not sure who else is on the block, but wouldn't be surprised to see Theis go too. Would be very surprised at this point to see Wood traded (just because I don't see us getting the return we want for him), but who knows. Will those trades set this team back? I think a little. But if this team has shown anything, it's showing that the young guys are ready to get minutes, can hit big shots, and can handle challenges.
Whoever makes the game highlights video, please make sure to include the MVP chants for Garrison. That was a highlight in itself. Great game - fun meter is high watching this young, high flying team.
