Checking into this thread after awhile to offer an updated view from one of the resident conservatives on this board: - I still do not believe that NPIs and general masking is very effective at preventing transmission. Unless it is an N95, masks do very little. - Vaccines are by far the best and most productive line of defense. I have yet to hear of any legitimate weighing of the pros and cons from any conservative or otherwise that weigh in favor of NOT getting vaxed. - I do not think it is fair to consider those that are opposed to vaccine mandates as "anti-vaxers." There are plenty of folks out there that have gotten vaxed and boosted, but do not agree that it should be forced upon people. - I think the focus needs to remain on the original goal, which is to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed with severe cases. As long as that is under control, then things need to stay loose - businesses have been on life support for awhile now, and despite what the job reports say, there is still a TON of professionals still unemployed, and the benefits have long been over. Savings and emergency accounts are shrinking. - Not all variants are created the same. The original Covid-19 strain had a very low danger rate for folks that were not old or had co-morbidities. However Delta was particularly dangerous to people who were unvaxed, and people of all ages and health levels. I think people that may have felt they didn't need a vaccine for the original strain should have been more open-minded and considered a vax once reports showed how many people were in ICU from the Delta who were young and healthy. Bottom line, there is no way to predict anymore how your body is going to react to the virus, regardless of your age and health. It is better to mitigate your risks of severe infection through a vaccine, which will help keep hospitals from being overwhelmed. - I put a lot of blame on the mainstream media for how things are going. Credibility for all outlets, left and right, went out the window a long time ago. It is difficult to expect people to make informed decisions when people do not trust a word they hear on the news. This virus should have never been politicized, and I blame both parties and their pundits equally on this.
Please post why it makes sense to keep repeating the same process over and over when you see that it is not 100% and never will be. Why the multiple boosters? Please make sense of that. I'll wait. Dont get mad at me because I didn't allow myself to get bamboozled like you. At some point your common sense should kick in.
Lengthy writeup by the WHO on tailwinds of Covid's effects upon the poor and others who have fallen through the cracks worldwide and in the US. Also describes in detail the reasons behind their poor vax rates. Doesn't look ideological. https://www.instituteofhealthequity...and-the-social-determinants-of-health-sdh.pdf
Well.. most people with a modicum of intelligence realize that the efficacy of the vaccine will abate over time. But, then again, ****ing morons don't recognize that. Now... I've answered your question. Time for you to post any proof that any doctor, scientist, politician, etc. has ever said the vaccine was 100% effective.
I'm the moron for not believing in fairytales. Look I know you're upset but the truth is you're not upset with me. You're upset with these so-called experts always coming up with half-assed solutions to a nonexistent problem. Tell me how many shots, boosters and all, have they put out in under 2 years?
Still waiting for you to show me where anyone in authority has said the vaccine is 100% effective. So. 700,000+ Americans being dead and millions worldwide is a non-existent problem? Only a ****ing moron would believe that and those are the people I'm upset with because those ****ing morons are trying to convince people that there is a grand worldwide conspiracy to cause millions of deaths.
Once again you post a bullshit video that is totally false. https://www.kwqc.com/2021/08/25/fact-check-is-pfizers-ceo-fully-vaccinated-against-covid-19/
So how does one find himself reading from websites like this? seriously, the Internet is a big place, I really want to know. Relatedly, are you willing to quote or cite anything written by anyone, so long as it is supportive of your point of view? Does it matter if it is true? Do you find it embarrassing to cite bull crap? Do you say “my bad” under your breath and move on? Is truth just an inconvenient, malleable, antiquated concept? I really want to know.
What do make of this bobrek? https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...vaccine-4-adults-die-vero-cell-covid-vaccine/
Excellent post. Really excellent. But that last sentence man. The Dems and their outlets share some blame, but nobody is responsible for politicization of Covid, masks and vaccines more than trump. He said and did the most damage, he had the biggest megaphone, he held the highest office in the world. He was the freaking president of the United States.
Anytime a child dies, it's a tragedy. It will be interesting to see what the final determination as to the vaccine is. To be clear, I have no problem with people making intelligent choices regarding the vaccine. It's the idiots who proclaim there is some grand conspiracy or it's a money grab or you will be microchipped or vast amounts of vaccine related deaths or severe side effects have occurred or is worthless because it's not 100% effective. What do you think of this: The USA is approaching 800,000 COVID deaths. Meanwhile, millions have died throughout the world due to COVID.
Everybody is claiming to quote experts. That website has experts on it. You calling it bullcrap doesn't change that. You getting all bent outta shape over what experts say like my friend @bobrek says a lot though. You would rather take Fauci's word over anyone else is your choice. You are free to believe in whatever you want. Take all the boosters if it makes you feel better at night. Me, I was never afraid of the flu no matter how strong it was.
If Covid was that deadly more would be dead. People, like myself, go about their days freely without fear. You choose to do otherwise even though you see different in your own surroundings than what they are telling you. Yeah, I know, you're going to throw your friends deaths up again to prove your point. I get it, you're hurt and I'm sorry for that but that doesn't mean I should tremble in fear and hide behind a mask. I just dont see it happening anywhere and i should by now. That's if it was so terrible. Meanwhile you will have to take 4-6 different shots every year for the rest of your life probably. There's no telling what damage has been done. But like I said in the past, time will tell. The truth will come out completely. Now, you can go ahead and keep venting. I can take it.
And there is no telling what damage has been done on those who have had COVID. Oh wait... there is. Some child now have permanent heart damage for example. If COVID was that deadly, more people would be dead????? Almost 800,000 USA citizens isn't enough?
