I'm not well versed enough in the intricacies of gain of function research to make a determination one way or the other. Nor did I hear the entire testimony.

But, I do feel that Rand Paul is an idiot.

Calling someone an idiot isnt compelling. If you wanted to try to be compelling you would explain why you think they are an idiot.

Also, you know dam well fauci lied, its just scares uou to admit it.

Weird video.... if you span in the crowd you can actually see people coughing and dropping dead.... herd mentality I guess, IDK.... I guess 40,000 unvaccinated Germans shoved together and without masks seems to lead to spread issues. Oh well.

We had my son and his wife over to decorate the tree last night. We all reflected on how much better than it was this time last year prior to the vaccinations.

Congrats to the vaccine developers and congrats to all of us who have gotten the shots which has enabled us in the United States to return to a much more normal life style.

Shame on the anti-vaxers who have delayed the return to normality and led to the loss of hundreds of thousands more US lives.
Shame on the the politicians including the majority of Repubs who rushed to get the vaccines and the big biz types like Bill Gates whose concern about corporate profits or intellectual property kept us from vaccinating as much as possible of Africa and other parts of the developing world leading directly to the Omicron and the other variants sure to arrive.

African and other poor foreign people's lives matter also.

The amount of people who have compromised immune systems is low relative to the rest of the population. It's certainly not in the tens of millions that are the unvaccinated. Also for those who do have compromised immune systems is more reasons the rest of the people who can get vaccinated should.
Young children have been infected and you're pretty much making my point that the opposition is ideological.
Several studies have shown that those who have been infected aren't as well protected as the vaccinated. This has to do with that natural infection depends on which variant you get infected with and the strength of infection. The MRNA vaccines have been engineered to address several facets of the spike protein which is why they have shown effectiveness against multiple variants.

That would be opposition that's ideological in nature. In the case of Aaron Rodgers he cited some ideological issues regarding how he felt he was being culturally forced to and didn't want to give in to that pressure.

Also note unless most of these people are lying the vast majority of pro-athletes are vaccinated.

According to who ? Their organizations ?
The only reason they caught Antonio Brown is because his private chef ratted him out because AB stiffed him on his payments

What qualifies as gain-of-function research appears to not be so cut and dried. Experts have different opinions on whether the stuff NIH was funding qualifies.

Then maybe it's my bleeding heart separating those with agency (feckless cons and feckless apolitical "bulletproof" youth) against those who don't/cant (underserved poor, people with legal issues and undocumented illegals) have the power of their own to vaccinate.

The latter ostensibly can take a free jab, but have given up from these kinds of social services. I suppose one can call that negative loop of brokeness "ideological"...

If you're right, I can totally see why Governments have a "messaging issue"* on their hands.

*That's a meme for Constant Liberal Failure in here, right?

I have spent the last few days in minnesota iowa s dakota nebraska and now kansas city. Not a mask in sight.
I thought texas was some conservative anti mask and everyone else was all masked up.. seems like Texas is more masked than other places.
I was in Virginia and dc recently as well and no masks there either.
Not sure what this means past the idea of masking is seemingly completely dead in large parts of usa

All we have to go on is the teams, players unions and individual players self reporting. It's possible their could be massive lying but that's speculation.

I'm sure AB isn't the only one who isn't telling the truth but I'm not sure there is much evidence to say that most are lying.

Where were you in Minnesota? In the Twin Cities it seem pretty mixed. We have no indoor or outdoor mask requirement but you still see a fair amount of people wearing masks in grocery stores. I'm sure in suburbs and rural areas it's probably very different.

Out in the Willmar area mask wearing has always been lax, even during the height of COVID.

We were just in the cities this weekend. We went to church in Richfield and it was back to pre-COVID days, with the exception of no wine. A handful of people were in masks. Went to dinner at Murray's and The Butcher's Tale. The staff wore masks but I didn't see anyone with masks when they were up and about (but I also wasn't paying that much attention to it).

MOA.... perhaps 10% of the shoppers.

Its really strange how this happens. One day they lift mask mandates and people just forget about them entirely (regardless of what is happening with covid). Even my relatives who are so conscious of covid, eventually stopped wearing masks in most cases. My former neighbors in South Minneapolis who are panicking to find pediatric doses and boosters are still going around unmasked half the time.

I'm pretty convinced at this point that the only way you'll get high mask use is by mandating it. A place like Minneapolis is as educated (for a metro) as you can get and even then you find only intermittent mask use. I live in Toronto nowadays but I drive to the US (Buffalo) on occasion and its the same story. I'd say 1/4 of people in Buffalo wear a mask at a store. However, when I went last week, everyone was wearing a mask because the county issued a mask mandate. I want to believe that people can be smart enough to make safe choices but Covid has really disproven that idea. No one's putting on a piece of cloth on their face without the government telling them too.

It’s law of averages. If you look at it this way. What percentage of pro athetes are unvaccinated? Less than 5 percent? If that

Please, please, please post anything from Fauci or any doctor or scientist or politician or Pfizer or Moderna or AstraZeneca or J&J where they say the vaccine is 100% effective against COVID. Hint: you won't be able to find anything because it doesn't exist.

Only a ****ing moron will try to prove a point that was never made.
