Does the recent win streak suggest?

It suggests we hit a soft spot in the schedule while simultaneously creating more spacing by removing Theis from the starting lineup. KPJ has also been injured, and I don't think this team is better off without him as some suggested for our other injured guard.

IIRC, last year we had a six game winning streak earlier in the season too after which people were pounding chest and claiming contender left and right. Then shxt went south really fast.

So calm the fock down indeed. Jury is still out.

I still remember John Wall’s quote at that time: we’re winning because we’ve players who want to play here.

Funny thing is he’s still here, but is not allowed to play now. Can’t make this stuff up.

No, he was losing because we suck. That's the crux of why the tank kids are wrong, we don't need to deliberately lose, we're bad enough to lose whilst trying our best. Despite being bad, playing to win every night will instil better culture in our players, and we're going to lose a lot more than we win regardless.

Silas wants to save his job

He has put teaching (Green/Porter) aside and has turned to playoff small ball to save
    his behind. Temporarily.

He is hoping Garuba can be ready soon so when Wood gets hurt he can run
Garuba as small ball center and continue quick pace and feature Brooks and
Mathews coming off curls. Tate still facilitating.

And I would pass on Duren. He is Otis Thorpe or Kawme Brown. Body of Tarzan but no
    shot like Jane.

Yes, this. And our schedule appeared unusually tough during the losing streak. I think SOS is the primary driver of the respective streaks. Momentum also is a factor. The more you experience winning, the more you learn how to win. I'd list lineup changes after those two things.

Why wouldn't you know the obvious and accurate answer would be posted by someone when coming into this thread?

It suggests that the schedule got easier and they shook off some of the rust that is inevitable during a long losing streak. They aren’t throwing games right now and the players don’t care about draft position. Silas probably read that article saying his seat was hot and felt he was being thrown under the bus so he decided to not listen to Rafael as much. I don’t believe the Rockets will have another 6+ winning streak after this one and I also don’t believe they will have another 10+ losing streak. They will land somewhere towards the top of the draft and hopefully the balls land their way.

Curious - why wasnt Silas using Green rubbing off curls and constant motion at the off ball spot? Seems to me that he would do just as well in that role instead of relegating him to iso ball and last second chucks.

What's strange to me is 2 shooting guards
forgetting how to shoot when they are
being trained to be point guards or as
    some say, "combo guards?"

But it happens time and time again.

I guess they focus so much on reading
    defenses and penetrating that they
    forget how to shoot?

That's why I'm saying both Porter and Green
will be fine once they ease back in. Mathews
has reminded them not to lose sight
of the SG aspect of combo guard.

Extra spacing of Brooks while Wood, Mathews
and Gordon shooting over 40% from 3 opens
up everything. Passes galore. Cutters galore.
Now is when this gets fun to watch.

I said it takes a month for new players to get
use to their new couch and new players.
It's been longer since Green and Porter
are so raw at running point.

P.S. I've asked many, how do you accelerate the
learning process of these players on the court?
I get crickets.....but lately Silas has them in
practicing recognition of plays in 5 seconds.
If they don't the get called off the court.
Tip of the cap to Silas. I never thought of that.
The game will start slowing down to these
kids as they recognize situations better.

They had to be losing on purpose. I clearly said on the first day of summer league that Theiss was trash. My original statement was we can't overcome House and Theiss playing alot.

It took professional coaches 3 months to figure that out?

Sure the only thing that’s changed is Green not playing. You’re not that stupid.

That's the main thing that has changed, instead of the most detrimental player to the team on the roster starting and playing 31 minutes per game, better players are on the court.

When you take out the scrub who tanks both the offense and defense and replace them with better players, you get better results.

Jalen Green was a net -30 to the team, Mathews is a +21. That's the major change.

Suggest many things. Many of them already posted. But it also suggests that our organization went backwards on how to deal with things and had to create gossips for Silas to start accelerating "our process".

This also suggests our Draft decision making process needs review and the people on charge of it needs to be evaluated. As they are going to pick again with a top 5 next june. Jalen vs Mobley is a debate worth having because it has implications on our next moves.

I love the implication that the Rockets were simply losing because they wanted to, and not because they were playing like month old garbage juice.

He's had a major hateboner for Green since before he was drafted. Just ignore him

You’re too disingenuous on the subject to be taken seriously.
