EspnStats - Rockets are the first team to win 6 in a row with a Turkish Player / Former NBA Son, who’s dad was the 1st pick.

Theis and Sengun each played 17 minutes each......and I was told
the Rockets/Wood had no spacing to hit 3's when they play simultaneously
    with Wood. BS

5/6 from 3....who would have guessed it? ( me holding up my hand )

    Uh, whaaaa????

Theis cant rebound worth a damn.

Wood is the one averaging OVER 20/10.

Do even realize what you are arguing anymore?

Theis is a solid journeyman and a great pro.

But he should not be the starting 5 for the Rockets.

And you are just not getting it.

WOOD AT THE 5 IS WINNING BASKETBALL FOR GAWD'S SAKE!!!!

    @ApacheWarrior

Now you're trying to compare Theis defense to frickin multiple DPOY candidate BEN SIMMONS????

Do you realize Simmons is MUCH more skilled offensively and defensively than Theis.

Simmons is a triple double waiting to happen every game.

Adding Simmons would actually provide Rockets a top 10 playmaker, which they could surely use.

And further, Simmons does not play the 5?????

You are just plain bananas now.

That second unit has some incredible chemistry. A ton of fun watching them play. @foggy94 or @steddinotayto , any stats on this unit.

Theis occupies space. Team gears up to box him out. They just reach over the
    top of 6'4" Tate.

Val had 10 rebounds and Hermangomez had 14.

Did you watch the game? Didn't the announcers repeat over
and over again how the Rockets were giving up Offensive
rebound time and time again. You think if we ran Nwaba or House
more the rebound battle would not be greater or worse?

Val would have had 17 and Hermangomez probably 22 Rebounds

You didn't see Val push Wood underneath the rim like he was a straw man?
    Watch the game on replay

You should enjoy the good basketball man. Don't know how long of a stretch the Rockets can keep this going, especially with several road games ahead, so it's whatever. I like the idea of getting another top prospect on the team, but won't be too mad if we don't, if this actually helps the young players keep developing well.

Spacing, spacing, spacing.....now you want to conveniently forget about that
    aspect of the game. Nice

    Outstanding

    Yes, Theis hurts spacing.

But he's bearable in limited minutes.

He is just not good enough on defense to make up for his limited offense.

He is always open on the perimeter.

    For a reason.

I like Simmons for the Rockets. But unlike
you, I'm not pretending a guy setting good screens
don't matter in the system we have.

Most PnR is done within the 3-point line. Somebody has to
be out of position to shoot a 3. Ball handler & Screener.

    Worked in Dallas just fine.

Here Theis started with Wood in the first quarter and most of the 3rd quarter.
I knew all this "Theis doesn't allow space," was horse s###. Wood did just
fine next to Theis. Wood didn't have to resort to shooting 19% from 3 anymore
like he did to force the change.

    I value rebounds too.

But rebounds are not critical to winning games in modern NBA.

    3P%
    FT%
    TOV%

Those are the 3 keys to success now.

    MDA knew his shet.
