I loved S1. I still haven't watched S2. Mackie was such a terrible casting choice. S1 was their most expensive show at the time. I think they cut the budget way back for 2.
My wife who doesn’t give a **** about anime loves it. The first episode is super campy but it turns into a solid watch.
Yeah, it was super campy and I thought that would be the tone through the entire series. I thought I would never get over the travesty of Cho playing Spike but I did so it's good to hear they went away from the camp. Good to hear.
yo, clos, this is crazy talk. the animation of the original is goated. the live action made sure to not do the space battles because they probably couldn't render it well
Animation always allows you to do something that it's almost impossible to do with a TV adaptation's budget. That being said, I like the overall look of the TV show better. I know people think I'm crazy but this is from someone who is currently watching both the anime and TV show side by side for the first time and overall the TV adaptation feels better to see it live. It could just be me.
this is why animation is such a great medium.. When you said the visuals from the live action were better than the animation, had to call you out on that one.. sacrilegious. I cant believe you're saying this.. even side by side you think the live action is better?! it has to be because the original isnt in hd.. Are you an anime fan?
Used to be when I was younger. Nowadays I prefer to watch live action. I think it's a great medium but I have my preference, just like you do yours. PS: Sacrilegious? Come on now, it's just cartoons! What are you, 5 years old?
I kid, I kid. Like I said, I used to really like anime when I was younger, my preference changed. Absolutely nothing wrong with the medium, it's lovely and allows for some great storytelling. That being said, I stand by my point, I like the visual look of the live adaptation over the anime. I don't have any nostalgia towards the original, just both new to me.
I also think it's sacrilegious and I am not pre-teen. It's almost like you think anime is just for kids? Edit. I saw you were just taking the piss.
Damn, well that didn't escalate quickly. I knew it was an uphill battle with anime adaptations but hopefully this is a ploy to get geek petitioners out in droves. With how slow second seasons pop out, three years to get a jump start isn't unrealistic. Too bad the fans online seem divided about the show.
Welp... I didnt think this was that bad. These adaptations are getting better though.. maybe in 2030 we will get a good adaptation of the source material. Arcane did a fantastic job adapting that league of legends stuff, but that wasnt live action
