Sitting for a year at a school like OSU is like getting a really good internship. Good coaching, tough practices against NFL caliber players. He should be set up well for the next 2 years wherever he goes.
If he's homesick, it seems like the only real options would be TCU or SMU. Austin's a 3 hour drive away, but Columbus is a 2-3 hour flight away and he has a $1.5 million NIL deal so that doesn't seem any better.
This guy has already made 1 million from the NIL, I knew they would be getting the bag but it's crazy he has made that much and is now looking to transfer. The dynamics have really changed and entitlement will be a huge issue going forward gonna take a different breed of coaches to navigate coaching teenage millionaires that are not starting immediately and even starters. Gonna be a sea change in the college football hierarchy due to having to handle the ego's of players that actually have money some have more money than the person who is coaching them. Gonna be interesting to see how all of this shakes out and the social dynamics it brings.
His NIL is with a card company or something - I doubt he loses it. My point was that with $1.5MM, you can get home pretty easily by air whereever you are. If the issue is being home sick and you're not living in the city with your family, there's not much difference being in Austin or Lubbock or Ohio.
True but I think he’s in the portal because their QB is really good and they just picked up that USC transfer Too much competition
A sobering statistic: Baylor now has the same amount of Big 12 titles (3) as Texas. They’ve won these titles in the last eight years whereas Texas’ three come over the last 25 seasons.
I mean they picked up a former usc commit https://www.burntorangenation.com/2...eyes-texas-longhorns-football-recruiting-2022
To be fair , when I was at Texas , a friend transferred to Rutgers to play football then went back to Texas the next year cause it was too cold up there
Not much difference? Austin vs Lubbock? Or Austin vs Columbus? Maybe not as a college experience, but for sure.....Austin wins. DD
Not saying that was the sole reason but obviously there is a difference between being 200 miles away vs 1000+ regardless of flight accessibility.
Or he simply didn’t like it there Remember that 5 star kid from USC that Herman got then he went back to USC after being in Austin for a spring
Parents can come watch you as well. Ewers would be a great get for Sark. Better yet send him to Texas State! DD
New NIL program will pay each Texas offensive lineman $50,000 a year Horns with Heart, a nonprofit charity organization, will provide every scholarship offensive lineman at Texas with $50,000 annually as part of a new NIL program, the latest in a series of launches by Longhorns supporters that likely will spur a new type of arms race in college sports. The program, appropriately named The Pancake Factory, will be the first of its kind: It will support a football position group for players to participate in charitable endeavors. It will begin August 1, 2022, with a total of $800,000 annually earmarked for the offensive line sponsorship. https://www.on3.com/news/new-nil-pr...ensive-lineman-50000-a-year-horns-with-heart/
