I said it in another thread but there would be too many positives of making a play in game over tanking I have confidence stone can make something happen with mid 1st
I voted for play-in. This team is fun, and will be more fun in a month or two, aaand tanking's for pussycats. It kills motivation, kills winning psychology, kills positive atmosphere and don't believe anyone who says otherwise; it sabotages development. These guys will lose loads of games anyway - let them fight through losses, not for them.
Truth be told, the Rockets have everything they need to go after both Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons. They should go all in.
Not mutually exclusive, you get the worst PI spot and then with luck you get a Top 8 pick. Keep in mind, young starters are going to feel the fatigue at the end of the season.
You can't be serious? These two guys plus what we have is a first round exit every time. Ben Simmons is soo broken he's to scared to play. Kyrie is soo crazy he might never play again. Neither one has ever led their team to anything as the best player.
You don't think a lineup of Irving, Green, Matthews, Simmons and Wood will compete? Especially with a 2nd unit of Christopher, SG?, Tate, PF? and Sengun. That's a Western Conference Championship team in year one, imo.
what we should be monitoring is the Spida Mitchell sitch. I think Utah will flame out again… They had some friction with Gobert… I can see him getting unhappy. Jalen Green + 4 FRPs + add-ons should be an enticing package, IMO. Spida will synch with Wood/Tate/Mathews/ timeline age-wise.That would be a very nice core. Hopefully we can keep Sengun/, KPJ and KMJ
Irving is a #2 option (#3 if #1 isn't LeBron) on a title contending team. Simmons makes his teams worse come April and May. Best case scenario is that we turn into the 2013 Knicks, win a single playoff series, then never sniff 35 wins for the next seven years. People are also forgetting that all but one of our win streak wins came by a single possession. And 3 of those 5 against the worst teams in basketball. Going all in with a roster on their way to another top 5 pick is exactly what the Billy King Nets did. If they played anywhere other than New York City, they'd still be on the 35 win treadmill.
