you dont have to be gay ...its an awful metaphor, yuck! you can simply date numerous others women or a woman without marrying her
This is literally not at all how the Rockets "came back": 10.6 Danuel House Jr. makes layup (Alperen Sengun assists) 73 - 79 7:20 Daniel Theis enters the game for Alperen Sengun 88 - 96 The Rockets "came back" after this point when Big Daddy Tate and Big Credit Money Karma Brooks went off.
Part of me feels like he picks up fouls so quickly because he knows he isn’t going to be out there long anyways.
This is what I don't get. He has never fouled out of a game, and they never use to him to close games, so what are you afraid of? Why does it matter if he fouls out? What difference does it make? I get it when you try to manage the fouls of your star players or your closers, but what is the point of managing the fouls of bench guys? It makes no sense. There is no logic behind it whatsoever.
If he ends up fouling out, we don't even have the option of bring him back. Like lets say we bring back Theis and he twists his ankle. If Sengun has already fouled out, we can't bring him in. Additionally, him racking up fouls as quickly as he does sometimes doesn't just affect his own availability, but puts the team closer to the foul limit quicker. Now that said, I am not worried about his foul rate. Virtually all young players that try hard on D go through this and learn from it.
I know this is a Sengun thread. My post was more about House than Sengun. Martin played only 18 minutes. I'd play him and Christopher more in a shorthanded game. I don't like criticizing Silas. Seeing House on the floor just made me cringe. The young guys also do things that make me cringe. But at least they are young and I have hope that they will improve by gaining more experience. House has no upside.
But Martin and Christopher were in there too! The Rockets went the late 3rd/early 4th with Sengun-Martin-House-Brooks-Christopher You can't have these guys play instead of House when they're already on the floor next to him. Your non-House options, presuming you're saving the starters to close the game (and, man this was a good decision to do so) , are Nwaba and Daeshan Nix at this point. People like to just look at box scores and say "man, guy got N minutes, he should really have f(N) minutes" - but the actual in-game substitution decisions don't let you make decisions that formulaically on certain nights, especially when you're shorthanded.
So true.......and I can't believe how bad House has been, he has just never gotten better. It shows how good Harden was at letting guys succeed on just what they do best and nothing more. DD
Rockets did get lead down to 4 from double digits with Sengun, in literally minutes THEN House brain sharted when he and EGo thought they were PG and lead back up to double digits in blink of an eye.
My option would be stagger the starters more. Why do you have to play all the bench players at the same time? Most teams use 8 or 9 men rotation with at least two or three starters on the floor at all time. Even with all the injuries, you still can have 5 players Gordon, Mathews, Brooks, Martin, and Christopher rotate for the 1, 2, 3 spots.
You're talking crazy now!!! Shorten the rotation??? The MDA haters will be after you with pitchforks and torches man. Run for your life bud!
He did stagger the starters, 2 starters got hurt snd couldn't return. Brooks the de facto starter played on both units. And the 5 guys you mentioned did share the 3 spots. Keep picking you'll find a nit eventually - it's just math
Wait, you just said this: That's four bench players at the same time (conceding Brooks as the de facto starter after the injuries). 5 players for 3 positions average 28.8 minutes per player. If you play the 3 starters 35 minutes each, the other two guys only have 19, 20 minutes each. No need to bring in a 6th player (House in this case). It's just math. Keep moving the goal post and you'll dodge a hit eventually.
