    Let's remember this.
I have revisited the message in question and smiled again at the image of a raving lunatic obsessed with power and domination.
That's all there is. It's ironic and humorous in a very self-deprecating way.
Why are you guys trying so desperately to read into it?

Let's assume this gif were shared:

    It's not Hitler.
Are you offended, or is this one OK?

Aww, look at you thinking you were being clever. Let me illustrate why there's a big difference to me personally. My maternal great-grandmother and most of her family died in a concentration camp. My grandmother was lucky enough to be evacuated to the UK where she was safe, but I have basically an entire branch of my family tree who were tortured and murdered because of Hitler. What the **** makes you think you have the right to tell me not to be offended by people using that same evil for humour?

You got it wrong. I have never told you that you had no right to be offended.
I told you you were reading way too much into a .gif that even you accept is used for humor.
That usage in no way idolizes Hitler or Nazism and you are aware of that.
You were in the middle of a debate and you just jumped at an opportunity to play for the rafters.
You played the "I'm offended" card.
Well, sorry; within the limits of the debate, the "so f***ing what?" card trumps that.

And here you go again, trying to reduce genuine hurt and upset to "playing a card." Stop trying to be an intellectual, you're failing miserably. And no, I didn't just insert myself into anything, the dude literally quoted me personally with a ****ing Hitler gif. So kindly go **** yourself with a rusty kitchen knife, thanks.

OK, your anger is validated, but very respectfully I want to just suggest that bringing-up the Holocaust in a thread about silly memes and the upcoming Thunder game may have in effect be cheapening the memory of your family...

A few months ago we had a discussion between friends about how the current poor health and socio-economic development of people in the Caribbean is directly attributable to slavery, until a young Jewish girl just scoffed "pfftt it's not like it was the Holocaust". Discussion over. Obviously she was correct. But there are situations when bringing-up the Holocaust is probably not worth winning the argument.

    I don't think so.
All that's happening is that you're wearing the "I'm offended" thing out.
You saw a .gif and you're genuinely hurt and upset just because it's there?
Go back to your discussion instead of trying to take everything out of context.
It's a cheap and easy way to win in some circles, but when you're arguing with people not totally blinded by extreme political correctness it doesn't work.
Just with a couple of irrelevant messages you (and another guy) turned this game thread into something else.
All I'm doing is answering you.

You're a POS too if you are really going to try and defend F'ing images of Hitler and Mussolini as harmless.

Not trying to get in between but I politely nudged the Hakeem poster implying she should stop posting it because other people would take it the wrong way, the Holocaust is too hot an agenda to be joking about.

She repeatedly did it since then anyway.

You are the one who is wrong.

It does not matter if you intended your behavior to be offensive.

If your behavior offends anyone then it is offensive.

That's how the law and real life works.

Wow, this is really low IQ.
Context, reference frame... all gone out the door.
I will not even try to educate you.

Are you a closet fascist, you are surely using the same techniques to normalize an abominable image.

"What normalization does is transform the morally extraordinary into the ordinary. It makes us able to tolerate what was once intolerable by making it seem as if this is the way things have always been."

It's all good, sounds like a sad pathetic little girl at any rate, so I'm happy to have her and the pathetic little tool defending her on ignore. I don't stand for people trying to make light of **** like that. I've got an African-American father who grew up during the civil rights movement (which is my link to Houston) and a very tough Polish-Jew grandmother who literally had to hide from the SS, I was raised to fight back with all I have.

Well, this is a more civil message, also more helpful. Thanks.
I understand your line of thinking and I'm OK with it. (With the exception of "law", but that would be too long a discussion.)
    Of course if A's behavior offends B, it's offensive - to B.
But not to the whole world. Maybe not even to B's family and friends.
I was C here: I saw a message written in caps with a relevant .gif, relevant in lunacy.
It didn't bother me; on the contrary, I saw it as an attempt on humor.
    It's not offensive to me.
I don't know how many thousands of members there are in these forums, but I assume there are a lot.
Any message can be offensive to anyone. So are all messages potentially offensive?
I could watch Inglourious Basterds without throwing a fit although Hitler was in it.
    Could you? If so, how??

    Perhaps this is your disconnect.

Hitler was not in Inglorious Bastards, it was a caricature.

And don't get me started about the law, I'm sure you don't have the experience or knowledge to speak on it anyway.

It's actually really sad that this even needs to be said. I'm not sure who's worse though, the moron thinking Hitler is funny or the complete mouth-breathing knuckle dragger who thinks they're being intellectual whilst defending such low-grade "humour" like a typical alt-right fake-clever mouthpiece who just looks like a complete moron to anybody who actually has a functioning brain.

That is exactly the way he was used in that .gif.
That's why I posted the Chaplin .gif right underneath man!
