The best almost-assist of my life resulted in a blown layup because the shooter was too shocked to do anything so this thread hits close to home.
I see they're still working on his stamina. Good. Mayor Green looks like he could still run for days out there. lol.
This is why I made my thread! It's a legitimate problem. Silas has finally figured out that 2 bigs on he court at the same time has been bad, very bad. Okay, so if you know that, that mean the minutes of Wood+Sengun has to be 48. If Wood is going to play standard starter minutes, which is somewhere in the 30s...that means Sengun is only going to play 12-16 minutes per game. We can complain all we want about him not getting enough minutes but realistically you can't expect them to reduce Wood's minutes below 30. Wood has been playing well at the 5 with no other big on the floor. So that means what Silas really needs to be doing is tinkering with a Wood+Sengun lineup that can actually works. That's what he has to figure out. It's the only way. If he doesn't, Sengun is going to be stuck in this 12-16 minute range.
Sengun still needs some tweaking in his game to adapt into the NBA. It is acceptable not to rush his starting role yet. The kid is SMART. Playing 20-25 min a game is enough for this adaptation. Remember he is still learning English. Lol But he sure is the most fun player to watch on this team and as a fan I would like to see him playing 48min What was unacceptable was playing him behind Theis or never pairing him with KJM.
its ok injuries will happen different matchups will happen..i dont mind him playing behind well playing exceptionally rare skilled big
wood is that material just needs good coaching...last night he was a lot better at picking his spots and not forcing things...keep and develop both of them you need versatility and depth to win it all
because hes their best player opening things up for others what i do find going to extreme is actually curry missing the playoffs 2 years in a row with a stacked roster, huge homecrowd and preferential refs treatment TAKE THAT FOR DATA
They are going to have to play about 10 mins a game at the same time to get them both reasonable minutes. Yes, Wood played great last game. He will always struggle against big centers and elite centers, so maybe under those circumstances Segun can get more minutes. If you are trying to win and Wood is playing like last night, there is no way you should take him out so that Segun can get some arbitrary amount of minutes. I still want Sengun to get his 25-30 mins a game. Since this is a re-building year, then they do need to experiment with Wood and Sengun in the same lineup from time to time, but not too much to hamper the development of KPJ and Green due to lack of spacing.
That's the thing though, Sengun's game does not suffocate space. It's the opposite. I feel they haven't caught on to that important detail.
Pretty impressive Green is still in such good shape. I remember when we first picked him up, it was literally off the couch and he was in game shape and contributed immediately
THIS...then there is injuries, load management etc...its not a problem to play behind a special big that is playing really really well and is also talented
Sengun's offensive BBIQ is very high for where he's at. Once he learns how to not foul as much, he'll be at a starting level very soon. OKC has to be kicking themselves for getting fleeced by us again.
