I would replace OSU with OSU if they beat OK. And, I am going with Auburn over Bama today. Going for broke!
Ohio State’s loss makes this tricky. Georgia is undeniably #1. Michigan just throttled the #2 team in the country so they deserve to be somewhere in the top-4 for the time being. Cincinnati shouldn’t be bumped out of the playoff and they certainly can’t be leapfrogged by the team they beat on the road who was #5 coming into this week (Notre Dame). Add into this that Alabama barely beat a 6-6 Auburn team and will, most likely, lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship. All of this makes me think that the final rankings will be: 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Cincinnati/Oklahoma State 4. Oklahoma State/Cincinnati/Notre Dame Hell, I completely forgot about Oklahoma State as I was typing all of that. I have no idea what will happen if they beat Baylor in the Big 12 Championship. Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think the committee could find a way to rank a two-loss Alabama team ahead of an undefeated Cincinnati and a one-loss Notre Dame if the Tide play Georgia close. It would be their nuts-on-the-table move that they justify by pointing to Alabama’s win over top-10 Ole Miss, Cincinnati’s poor games against Tulsa and Navy, and Notre Dame’s lack of conference championship game. This chaotic season is fantastic for neutral fans and horrific for invested fanbases. The three-way Big 12 tie in 2008 was bad enough, but this has the potential to break everyone’s brains for years.
Georgia Michigan Cincinnati Oklahoma State Looks perfectly fine to me. Alabama and Notre Dame can jerk each other off in the 5 v 6 bowl.
No, they have struggled to beat several .500 teams. They lost to A&M who has had a disappointing season.
Holy smokes... yesterday was about as entertaining of a college football Saturday as one could have hoped for. Wish Bama took the L but they would have probably just beaten Georgia in the SEC title game to make it anyway.
If Bama beats Georgia you really think they deserve to be out? Sometimes people just really hatin'. Oklahoma State beat 7-5 Boise 21-20, Missouri State 23-16, Tulsa 28-23, lost to 7-5 Iowa State. Bama lost to 8-4 A&M who has an elite defense but a trash QB situation after the early injury. Calzada has been up and down. Still a ranked team and a quality opponent. OkSt are playing great football lately and they deserve to be in the conversation. Things may very well fall their way, but give me a ****ing break. Bama has proven year after year after year after year that they are one of the best teams, both talent and coaching. This year is no different. Oh no they played a brutally tough game with their bitter rival. Maybe you should look up the Iron Bowl and its history. LSU is my team, so I hate Bama, but even I am not this dense. Next weekend will be very interesting. Edit: On the Alabama coaching comment, yeah, briefly forgot about Bill Obrien, but Nick Saban kinda trumps all
I thought it was pretty obvious in that post I was assuming Georgia wins out. If Bama and/or Baylor wins things are gonna get weird fast.
I get what you're saying. The Iron Bowl is a rivalry game and we knew it was going to be a close game. It always is a close game. so I dont hold that against Bama in the playoff race. Bottom line for me is that I think Bama is one of the four best teams in the country and should be in the playoffs. Although you made a good case for Okie St.
I expect Michigan to lose following a win like that, and I think UH has a shot against Cincy. It's gonna muddy the waters and throw this into a complete **** show.
