Statements like "0.00% chance he will be ..." is an instant disqualifier for any reasonable discussion. We're talking about basketball, we're not looking into crystal balls.

    Dumb posters gonna dumb post.

Most players on the team are doing pretty well when they aren't stuck playing next to Green. It's why players who have struggled overall like KPJ still have positive splits.

Some players make those around them play better, some players are trash enough to bring the whole team down. Thus far, Green has been the latter.

It was to be expected for him to struggle to adapt as most rookies do. You're seeing him swing up and down in certain things, he's probably not as good a shooter as he was in summer league and probably not as bad as his current percentages
Like, what expectations did you have for this team coming into the season? With or without Green this team would have been a bottom dweller. The fact that he's not a net positive right now doesn't mean he won't ever get there. Name me one player in his archetype who came into the league and immediately raised the floor of a team as crappy as this one. Not even better prospects did.
Teams are already scheming against Green the way they do against stars, you can bet your ego that Sengun wouldn't be looking as good if he were the main subject on the gameplan and didn't play the majority of his minutes against backups.

This is hard to decide, both players are likely to be solid starters but not all stars. If Green becomes an all star it will be done in the weight room, it's impossible know his motivation to put in that work year round. Sengun is so skilled but athletically has a ceiling that may prevent reaching all star level. Might as well flip a coin and vote I suppose.

So he hes to develop elite skills like elite scoring, elite rebounding and elite facilitating.

    Tall order but feasible.

They weren't in the poll either. I agree Sengun has all the skills and could be a borderline allstar, it's not likely he develops into a perennial allstar like Doncic and the Joker. Some are putting too many hopes and dreams on Sengun to be a superstar similar to how some did with KPJ last year. Completely understandable given how atrocious the team is but let's slow the roll on expectations for these guys.

He's by far the most likely player on the roster to develop into a perennial all star. If there's hope on the current roster, he's it.

Be that as it may, that's not saying a lot. Most likely Green and Sengun are both part of the young core that will develop around the perennial allstar we hopefully draft next year.

I agree, too much pressure on him does the opposite.

Flawed comparison, both are physically gifted in ways Sengun is not. Jokic has good length and strength for a center while Sengun is below average on the first one and still adequate on the second one (he's 19, he probably gets stronger). Luka, besides being a true savant, is an exceptional athlete for his position in regards to the combination of his size, strength and quick acceleration/deceleration, not unlike Harden.

how dumb does this take look when the 16th pick has had the 3rd best production among all rookies on this very same “dysfunctional” team?

When saying Green won’t ever be Kobe is classified as “trashing” that is an assault on basketball intelligence and basic human decency.

Sengun has a 0.00% to ever be Wilt Chamberlain.

KPJ has a 0.00% to ever be Larry Bird.

I don’t need to be a psychic to know these things, just half a brain.

Fortunately no one has ever said any of those things because how ridiculous they are. Except that Green = Kobe. If people still can’t see that then I can’t help them. May god have mercy on their souls.

Green‘s body does look like a young Kirby‘s but that is where the comparison ends.

I still see Green being a much better long term pro than Sengun. Love Sengun's playing but he is a Luis Scola type at best which is a very valuable player but not a perennial All Star. I know Green hasn't been great to start but I see enough to think he will be a future perennial all star. I think he is a bit of a victim of perhaps the right decision at the wrong time which has delayed his development so he is learning "on the job" this year. It's been rough to start but he just didn't get the right development in the G league. I've asked a few scouts who agree that how the G league adjusted to the pandemic was sub optimal to those players who still needed skills development like Green and Kuminga. Maybe it would have worked out for them had there not been a pandemic but the fact is college sports forced the issue in a way that the G league didn't and maybe just maybe that's why Green has looked unprepared to start the year off. He's going to be fine long term - but he is obviously behind where the other guys who went to college are.

But their muscle mass look similar, maybe that is why.

Kobe is as much of a unique player as many of the greats.

Nobody was a better copycat than Kobe early in his career - MJ, The big O.......

Sengun better player Green better scorer. Depends how you view basketball its obvious that Sengun has most natural talent in this class. He just do things that are desirable in the game of basketball at given moment. At this age its pretty significant headstart. When he gets NBA body he will toy with people just like in Turkey
