No, but not by the disparity you're implying...

Read all my posts regarding this. I’m not implying anything.

I would reluctantly give up Whitley and Perez plus Abreu for Means.

I see Means as a young Glavine that's playing on a bad team. Of course Means arm problems last year worry me.

Teoscar was still to be determined. Small sample size. Abraham had some nice moments but seemed to be a .200 hitter. I guess we will see if he sticks.

    true.

looking forward to the upcoming guys and hoping we snag some good pitchers. Keep that infield defense going.

He can stick and still not be anyone you’d want on a first division team. The two concepts are not mutually exclusive.

I want to keep Forrest Whitley at all costs. He's possibly our only minor leaguer who has the potential to become a truly dominant starter.

Supposedly he's feeling quite good after his Tommy John surgery.

Matz to the Cardinals on a 4 year 44 million dollar deal. Had a really solid season for Toronto last year and #2 starter upside, IMO. Could be a really good deal for St. Louis. Probably tempers the market a little bit for guys such as Stroman. Still think Gausman and Ray get paid handsomely

Would love to have Stroman. Still think Bryant is the perfect answer for Correa leaving. If Verlander is himself, we have a really good SP staff and don’t really need to sign an ace. We should keep our powder dry for signing another Graveman type at the deadline.

Hopefully he's stopped using the nose candy.

Whitley has had his share of issues but cocaine/drugs isn’t one of them…

He had been abusing stimulants. Maybe not illicit/illegal ones, but still a condition that warrants treatment/resolution.

Nearly won it is a VERY misleading way to put it. We were down 3-1 at one point, lol. However, he was a pivotal piece in getting there for sure.

By really good year, we're talking a 3.82 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and a below 1 K/IP ratio. And that was with an outstanding August - the other 5 of his 6 months had ERAs above 4. And that was one of his better years. He'd likely be the 6th starter on the current Astros. Or 7th if you include Javier. He's basically just another Jake Odorizzi.

Hopefully he has grown up a little bit and realizes his stardom isn't guaranteed.

1B Average? I guess all first basemen got a batting title and a gold glove.

Where do you want Bryant to play for us? CF?

Edit: I really like watching Stroman and he seems like a cool guy...wish we could sign him but doubt that happens after JV resigned.

My preference is RF, with Tucker to CF. Against LHP we start Bryant at LF, Tucker RF, Siri/Meyers/McCormick at CF. I like Bryant more than Marte because the drop OBP off isn’t that much, and he has far more pop and is 3 years younger.
