This is nothing compared to what will happen if Wall is here past the trade deadline and/or playoff roster deadline
PLAY THE TANK COMMANDER!!! Nvm have to reserve him, we are 3 wins away from being out of the top 4 lottery! We shall unleash Tank Commander in the last few games of season! Top 4 picks here we come!!! 4 wins Pistons, Magic, Spurs 3 wins Pelicans 1 win Rockets
Has anyone just sat out a year like this? (I guess Houston ppl are use to this with Watson) I’m not trading Wall for any random deal. I think this is getting old, sign a contract and cry your way out to a new team of your liking. NBA athletes are the pussiest.
Fans are partially responsible for enabling this behavior as we support the super teams created this way.
Wall would provide an immense upgrade for Green's development at a minimum -- we want some solid tank action, but historically bad play is already wearing the team down. You need some hope for the future.
He was a 20/10 guy that was as fast as (if not faster than) Derrick Rose before his injury. Played like a more efficient, more under control Russell Westbrook. He and Beal were solid, but Washington's FO really wasted the duo - kinda like what Portland is doing now, to Dame and CJ. imo he lived up to being a 1st overall pick.
I sometimes think all of these people who joined in the last year are the same person. Is this just a Gen Z thing? Signed, Gen X.
I think as long as Simmons is out there, it will be hard to get any value for wall. I mean honestly what can wall do? He is already not playing what is he going to do, not show up to games and stop getting paid ?
If he cared SO much about playing basketball and was such a competitor he would agree to a buyout or agree to become a FA after this season if he's traded to a team he chooses... But nope he's more concerned with collecting his $40M+ the next two seasons.
The Rockets are playing hard ball by trying to force Wall into taking a buyout for less.....it is a hardcore biz decision that will not look good to NBA players....but it may also be unique as they are paying him, just not going to play him. So, he has the ball in his court, he can sit for 2 years.....and be paid......or he can negotiate a way out and have to give up millions to do it..... DD
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/walljo01.html Pretty simple, all you have to do is create a poll for DC die hards and if they think Wall lived up to their expectations. Well, I guess you have other standards. (That is some generalization, bruh) Spoiler Again, living up to the potential means you have to work with the environment. And DC needed a Lebron, at worst a Paul George type, someone that can carry a team by himself. He had one full season of over 20 ppg average. Then he had half a season with Houston and Washington. You could blame it on injury, sure, we all go there. His scoring abilities are actually worse than I thought they would be. But I guess he made it up with lots of assists. Yes, I would agree that he is an Allstar by any means but if you tell me that this a 2nd option on a championship team. Not by today‘s standards. Living up to your standards? Sure, living up to be a real force on a contender? Nope, not close.
It isn’t as if that was a spectacular draft class. Even with the injuries Wall was probably the second best player after Paul George. Then there is Gordon Hayward and…
