Yes, he could score 20 on 23 shots and give up 40 on defense and Rockets fans would complain that he's terrible while his fanbois would praise him.... weird how that works
They guys golf clapping while they roll their eyes everytime JG has a good game or makes a highligh play? Those guys? LOL
JG has too many holes in his game. At this point next season is the earliest he might show something. I still think Mobley was a better pick now and in the future but whatever, we're stuck with JG so all we can do is hope he develops.
Yeah, the ones who whined for years about how we should have fired Dantoni and traded Harden for picks--the ones who seem most upset now that the youngsters are making mistakes and losing games
Sounds right, building a little shrine to all of the people who they want to beat the Rockets own players. Must be surreal rooting for everybody but the team you claim to support, I don't know how they do it.
I plan to get a jersey of the best 19 year old rookie on the Rockets, Sengun has been amazing, no one has had to make excuses for him.
People with a clear agenda about certain players on the rockets are weird as ****. I’d like to see them all do well.
This team needs a real coach, and need to trade Wood and EG. I think JG is confused on his role. He’s deferring to Wood and EG too much. He needs to go out there and be the man. Own it!
Everyone comparing Green to Mobley at this point in their careers are completely ignoring the fact the supporting cast Green has in Houston is clearly the worst in the NBA...and it's by a mile. Oh and he's playing with a PG who barely is able to drink legally and in his first full year in the NBA attempting to learn the position. Go look at the G league games last year and you will notice having a true PG in Jarrett Jack led to easy buckets for Green that he just isn't getting with this roster. Meanwhile, the Cavs are a borderline playoff team with real NBA talent surrounding Mobley. Garland is a true PG, Sexton can score with the best of them especially for his age, and then there's this boards beloved Jarrett Allen all making Mobleys life easier. If you put Mobley on our roster he would struggle to score...
I mean, a big part of the "supporting cast" issue is that Green is the most detrimental player to his team in the league....he makes everyone else worse. Sengun is actually a good player, so that's why he's not struggling like Green is. I do agree though that NO ONE should be comparing Green to anyone on any other team right now, just compare him to the 19 year old rookies on his own team that are better than him.
Sengun is playing how many minutes a game? Until he is playing 30+ minutes (both condition wise and staying out of foul trouble) and playing his minutes against other teams starters, I don't think you can compare them either. I love Sengun and think he's going to be a great player but let's pump the brakes a bit before making conclusions on Green being a bust and Sengun being the next Jokic..
Of the rookies who averaged 25 minutes a night in their rookie season with a WS/48 value of less than 0 Jalen Green (-.46 WS/48) is currently sporting the 8th worst in NBA history, sandwiched between Emmanuel Mundiay and Bobby Hurley. Jalen Suggs has the 2nd worst in NBA history at -.108 and Cade is rocking a -.034 for 12th worst. Of course there's more games to be played so we'll see how they fare by season's end.
The only thing stopping him from playing those minutes is the coach who would rather keep running scrubs out there to get blown out for whatever reason.
Can't disagree there...Theis getting minutes is ridiculous. He shouldn't even be on this team. If we are going to give minutes to a vet with no future on our team I would rather Wall get them...at least he would make Green and others better while helping develop them. Theis literally offers nothing.
I agreed in theory with the Theis signing when it happened, as a safety net for the young guys who would head to the bench if they did well... but that's not happening for whatever reason
