He is the most fervent partisan hack in this place. He has spent an enormous amount of time shilling for the Dems. I can’t think of another poster who does that. Most people here are liberals and in supportive of the Dems somewhat but NewRoxFans takes it to another level.

In Minnesota we're suffering a massive spike in cases right now with hospital stretched. Why there are more breakthrough cases than before it's still the vast majority of those being hospitalized are those unvaccinated.

I had a COVID-19 scare this past week as last weekend was with someone who tested positive with a breakthrough case. I still tested negative and the other person even though positive only had mild symptoms.

    "Mandates" are working.
    https://www.mprnews.org/story/2021/11/22/deadline-for-federal-workers-to-be-vaccinated

    Updated: 9:12 a.m.
More than 90 percent of federal employees will have had at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose by the end of Monday, the deadline for the largest workforce in the country to get vaccinated under a mandate imposed by President Joe Biden in September.

The vast majority of the 3.5 million employees covered by the mandate have been fully vaccinated, said a senior administration official who declined to be identified ahead of the deadline. An additional 5 percent of workers have requested or received an exception or an extension, the official said.

That's ahead of the pace among all U.S. adults, 71 percent of whom are fully vaccinated.

Federal workers will have all day today to turn in their proof of vaccination. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday that experience with other similar mandates in the private sector indicates there could be a last-minute rush to meet the requirements and submit paperwork.

The small percentage of federal employees who don't comply with the mandate today won't face immediate dismissal. Agencies will continue processing documentation and considering exemptions, including for documented medical necessity. There will be education and counseling for employees who haven't complied, with the ongoing goal of getting yet more federal workers fully vaccinated.

For months the White House resisted vaccine mandates out of concern over backlash, but with the delta variant causing a surge in cases and the pace of vaccinations plateauing, Biden signed orders requiring all civilian federal workers and employees of federal contractors to provide proof of vaccination. A similar requirement was instituted for members of the military and people working in nursing homes, hospitals and doctor's offices.

Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention opened up booster shots to all adults on Friday, for now, the requirement is just for a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines. That could change if the CDC updates its definition of fully vaccinated to include boosters.

Psaki said the administration isn't expecting any operational disruptions from people choosing not to be vaccinated.

The White House Office of Management and Budget plans to release data on Wednesday showing how many employees in each department and agency have met the requirements of the vaccine mandate.

Heading into a busy travel week, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said his agency is well on its way to a nearly fully vaccinated workforce.

"We've seen numbers approaching 99 percent of people have gotten in their information, per the requirements," Buttigieg said Sunday on NBC's “Meet the Press.” "Either they're ... vaccinated, or they're in the process of it, or they've put in a request for an exemption."

The largest federal employee union AFGE requested earlier this month that the Biden administration align the vaccination deadline for federal workers with the January deadline for employees of federal contractors, arguing it would be bad for morale for employees to face disciplinary action over the holidays. The White House didn't move either deadline.

But in congressional testimony, AFGE president Everett Kelley pointed to avoiding a government shutdown as "the single most important thing Congress can do to ensure a turbulence-free season."

Government funding is set to run out Dec. 3 unless Congress passes another funding measure.

Not encouraging natural immunity but that if you are previously infected, it should be good enough. I was on that ship but more recent data is changing my mind. So far, the order of "immunity" from best to least is as follow on avg:

    1- mRNA 2 shots + 3rd shot (3 shots)
    2- previously infected + 1 shot
    3- mRNA 2 shots
    4- previously infected
    5- naive (never infected)

GOP embraces natural immunity as substitute for vaccines (yahoo.com)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Republicans fighting President Joe Biden's coronavirus vaccine mandates are wielding a new weapon against the White House rules: natural immunity.

They contend that people who have recovered from the virus have enough immunity and antibodies to not need COVID-19 vaccines, and the concept has been invoked by Republicans as a sort of stand-in for vaccines.

Florida wrote natural immunity into state law this week as GOP lawmakers elsewhere are pushing similar measures to sidestep vaccine mandates. Lawsuits over the mandates have also begun leaning on the idea. Conservative federal lawmakers have implored regulators to consider it when formulating mandates.

Scientists acknowledge that people previously infected with COVID-19 have some level of immunity but that vaccines offer a more consistent level of protection. Natural immunity is also far from a one-size-fits-all scenario, making it complicated to enact sweeping exemptions to vaccines.

That’s because how much immunity COVID-19 survivors have depends on how long ago they were infected, how sick they were, and if the virus variant they had is different from mutants circulating now. For example, a person who had a minor case one year ago is much different than a person who had a severe case over the summer when the delta variant was raging through the country. It's also difficult to reliably test whether someone is protected from future infections.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in August that COVID-19 survivors who ignored advice to get vaccinated were more than twice as likely to get infected again. A more recent study from the CDC, looking at data from nearly 190 hospitals in nine states, determined that unvaccinated people who had been infected months earlier were five times more likely to get COVID-19 than fully vaccinated people who didn’t have a prior infection.

“Infection with this virus, if you survive, you do have some level of protection against getting infected in the future and particularly against getting serious infection in the future,” said Dr. David Dowdy of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. “It’s important to note though that even those who have been infected in the past get additional protection from being vaccinated.”

Studies also show that COVID-19 survivors who get vaccinated develop extra-strong protection, what’s called “hybrid immunity." When previously infected person gets a coronavirus vaccine, the shot acts like a booster and revs virus-fighting antibodies to high levels. The combination also strengthens another defensive layer of the immune system, helping create new antibodies that are more likely to withstand future variants.

Glad your test was negative and hope that the other person recovers quickly.

Just got my booster scheduled for later today. I'm going to Asia in Mid December and don't want to take any chances. I also just last night heard that one of the Senseis who trained some of the people who taught me died this past weekend of COVID-19. Another guy who I've competed against wife is seriously ill with COVID-19. In the later case I suspect she and her husband are unvaccinated.

I wonder if Georgia tax payers are paying for this or all tax payers? You would have to think at some point fines would be insufficient and other punishments would make more sense (censure, loss of committee seats, criminal charges).

It’s all temporary for the healthcare workers. DeSantis has the backing of all of Floridians like myself. Brandon will lose on this one just like your precious Dems on November next year.

In the meantime, here is a win for my awesome governor.

Florida’s new law restricting vaccine mandates is already having an effect. Walt Disney World, which is located in Florida and is the largest single-site employer in the country, paused its vaccine mandate for employees over the weekend in response to the new state policy.

Long live DeSantis and Let’s go Brandon!

and again Ron DeSantis is vaccinated himself. He knows that the vaccines are safe and are the best way of combatting this disease even if many of his supporters don’t.

All this garbage about cases rising and special breakout cases. It's all bs whether you believe it or not. Just fear-mongering.
They have to tell you this in order to get you to keep getting riled up. Low frequency programming at it's best. Television programs are for programming. Get it?

So all these doctors and hospitals and administrators and governors and mayors and all their equivalents across the earth have had another zoom call and they all decided to ramp up again?

Not a single country is rebelling against this grand conspiracy and calling all the others out?

Can you refer me to the dark web site where you get your information?
