Not just that ... Which contract package would we possibly accept once we have finally reached Wall's final season? What possible $45M+ package would be more enticing to the Rockets than the prospect of letting Wall expire and entering FA with cap space for potentially 2 max slots? The only potential target for us would be a superstar under 27 and already locked into a max deal Unless Giannis or Luka tries to force their way here, I don't see it
This and I think there are some franchises that certain players should be on. For developmental purposes. Poor man‘s Kawhi vibes. Just plain objective thoughts.
Yeah some people like that moron (should've known from the name "YOLO" tbh) are actually insane enough to believe that people are going to want to trade their top guys for an expiring contract. It's never going to happen. The only way Wall gets moved is if he leaves money on the table, his contract isn't just bad, it's completely untradeable. Forgetting anything else, the numbers mean either a star player or everybody else on the roster has to go. There is no inbetween with 47m.
This franchise has absolutely eroded since the day Les sold it to Tilman. We're basically the Knicks and Kings now.
At this point I would play him. We can't get any worse and I doubt he has the talent to get us out of a top pick.
I could be mixing sports, but don't buy outs stretch the money and leave a lingering cap hit for the cutting team? Like let's say Wall agrees to go down to $20M instead of $40M. Why it's bad for Wall: Goodbye to ~$30M Why it's bad for Rockets: Still prorated $20M left on cap hit this year $20M cap hit left next year No assets in return The other option is for him to just play, even if it's 20 minutes... not sure KPJ or Green will die if they play 15 less minutes flailing around like lost chickens and going on 25 game losing streaks.
I don't think he's fully healthy. He said out his own mouth he was only 70% in that one vs one video with JG. Otherwise I think he would accept a buyout and join a contender.
It would be incredibly frustrating to be stuck on a team like the Rockets and lose one of the final years of your prime while healthy just sitting on the bench having to watch this awful squad.
I don't give a rats ass how he feels Sit on the bench and let us collect top 5 draft picks for the next two years If you want to leave then leave some money on the table, bc his team for damn sure shouldn't give up even one single asset to get you moved.
I wouldn't even compare this "product" to an actual NBA team, their only job currently is to be the door mat for actual NBA teams. They've somehow regressed from last season when they were the worst team in the league to possibly the worst team in the histroy of the league.
