I only see you post when its about defending Silas. I have no respect for anyone who defends him and I call into question anyone who looks at his coaching and has the nerve to say he shouldnt be fired or isnt doing a good job. Its a flat out lie. You can call me dumb all day and I'll love it and wear it like a badge of honor because I see people like HP3 agreeing with you and anytime that idiot agrees with you on something you know youre on the trollish side lol
Delusional bs. knicks, bulls, and wizards sends their regards. they didn't magically become the way they are this season by winning nonstop. look at the past few seasons especially the knicks. Tanking works, u just need to have competent people doing the the rebuild. Rather silas is the answer that's a different debqte.
He started him and played him as a wing. He saw him as a wing. I know because that's what was said at the time and @ApacheWarrior just proved it with numbers. No, right place and right time is giving Kerr no credit for what he accomplished. Okay, look at Harden's numbers under Mchale...now look at them under MDA. Look at Curry's numbers under Jackson...now look at them under Kerr. You think Kerr had 0 impact on this? According to Curry, he liked that Kerr had gotten everyone to buy in to their roles... "You see how [Kerr] handles people, how he manages people, how he talks to people, how he finds ways to make sure everybody knows their role and get them to buy into it for the betterment of the entire team. That meant a lot." We're talking about positions a lot, you Rocket fans remember what MDA did first day here? "Harden's playing PG." the media balked and laughed...and then Harden became one of the best PGs in the NBA and the Rockets instantly became a real contending team. Now I have issues with MDA but he's like a B tier coach while Mchale was like D tier. The difference was night and day. But people will say coach's have no or little impact? No. It's just flat out not true. Coach of your team has a BIG impact on your team.
None of these teams tanked they were just bad and they got enough right to become good again. The Knicks were trying their best to win. Being bad works to get you picks but being awful doesnt help develop anything especially when the coach is playing vets over the young guys. There's a sweet spot you have to hit where your future guys need to be your focus but if they are good enough to win you ****in let it happen and you dont get in their way. If they lose fine you have your pick.
that i agree, u need to play the rookies when u are sht in the tanking phase to gain experience. But don't delude youself thinking this team compromise of rookies is winning enough to make it into the playoffs.
lol those teams didnt win nothing in the last decade...and they wont win anything in the near future....yeah they did have one cute little start to the new season lololololol...tanking doesnt work buddy...you cant find one single example that it does
Ahh yes, the best and brightest of CFs lol, I wonder how many wins the couch coaches here The only reason Kerr played Draymond as much as he did was because Lee got injured.
Great pick and roll for an open shot with Green and Wood sadly it ends up in the hands of someone who cant shoot the three but stands at the three point. Dumb coach does dumb things.
Disregard that first sentence btw, it was meant for another thread. Sure it was a good decision but that doesnt mean he had any plans to play him that much, it was dumb luck that Lee got injured.
IT was luck but he didn't have to play Green at all. Could have played Speights, could have played Ezeli who they had picked in the first round. If he wanted to stay small he could have just played Barnes at the 4. Instead he settled on Green. So it wasn't luck at all, he could have played Green at SF like Jackson too, instead he saw him as a big the entire time. That is a noticeable coaching change. He wasn't forced to play Green at all but he clearly saw something in Green Jackson did not.
The same group that said Luke Walton was amazing when Kerr started a season away from the team due to back surgery. Luke Walton led them to a 39-4 start. Here we are full circle again. Luke Walton was a genius....then he sucked with the Lakers.....then he sucked with the King's. Could go to the Bucks and look like a genius again. Like an artist, materials matter. Modeling clay works better than playdough
Eh, thats fair. Coaching matters but you guys are making it seem like the coach is going to destroy our team.
Luke Walton being an interim coach for the warriors while Kerr is out for surgery is hardly comparable to Luke Walton being a full time head coach for the Kings.
Do you think he weighed 230 pounds when he entered the league? He's not Harden......not shooting anything like a shooting guard. As he gained weight he was able to graduate to the bigger slots.
I'm not saying he's going to destroy this team, this team already sucks and was always going to be at the bottom tier. I do think that yes, if you gave this team to MDA things would look a lot better. If you gave it to an A tier coach like Pop or Kerr, they'd still look better. Maybe they have 2-3 extra wins...I don't know... And all this said I'm still for Silas finishing the year. I do think the team has looked a lot better the past 3 or so games so maybe he's learning the roster game by game.
No but when he was 39-4 people told me he would be great as the Rockets new head coach. I told them sure, if he brings over Draymond, Steph, Klay and company. Why, because players matter....as evidence Luke couldn't repeat the same magic of running the same system in L.A. and in Sacramento. Same teacher or orchestrator but different test scores of his students or different music by the band. Not all players are created equal. Not all fit all systems.
Yep. He did. Look, my point is simply this. Coach's see players differently and that affects the team differently. Just like McHale thought of Harden as nothing but a SG, MDA saw his game and saw a PG and MDA proved to unlock Harden at his very best while McHale's version of Harden was just a top scorer, MDA's version of Harden was a guy that could run your entire teams offense AND drop 40 on you.
