Okay but I don't think this is a "both sides are the same" thing.

My favorite candidate (both for president and then VP was Amy Klobuchar) but to be honest, I don't know what difference Klobuchar or any other person would do in the VP role. There really isn't much that VPs do. During campaigns they sometime take on the aggressor role (allowing the president to "stay above it all") but mostly they attend state funerals, gaze intently at the president delivering the SOTU speech and maybe work on one big project.

I don't know much about Harris before since I had already moved from CA but seems a prosecutor background and senator experience would be good (perhaps not as useful as being a governor). What experience or set of accomplishments did pence have (other than being very religious)?

Right, it's a given that politicians at a national level are 'ambitious' and 'accomplished liars'. So an attacking group takes the initiative and points out the obvious over and over, it begins to stick and the politician has to either own it ("his blatant theft and lying tax cheating skills are a stroke of genius!") or make something bigger and uglier stick on the opposition.

I get that. I guess the underlying bit about Kamala is that I don't find her inspiring at the moment. She came from a state I live in and I got more insight of her from a Chappelle story than an event from the headlines.

Maybe she is inspiring with her base, and there are definitely inspiring moments in her personal life. But yeah, that's kind of a crucial thing for a head of state that relies upon the pulpit to push an agenda that person usually has no direct control over.

Yeah I'm sorry, but with all due respect, the science is clear. Masks work, and the vaccine is safe. This isn't about personal freedom or rights, it's about ignorance and irrational fear stoked by those who gain power from it.

As @rocketsjudoka pointed out, people like DeSantis and those who play on people's fears all get their shots and even their boosters, and yet celebrate those who put themselves at risk. It's like encouraging people not to wear seatbelts because the pressure hurts their chest and makes it hard for them to breath.

But because it helps DeSantis score points, he all in on it and instead of solving real problems he puts all his energy into doing something that doesn't help people but actually hurts them.

It's a sad state of affairs. I'm not saying Dems are some kind of great group of people, but this is ridiculous.

    Agreed.
Learning how to wear a mask is a premium skill. Thousands of people are loosing their jobs because they don't know how to wear a mask.

President Biden will have a routine colonoscopy today which means he will have anesthesia. Since that is happening, VP Harris will be acting president as dictated by the US Constitution. So... the first woman President of the United States.

Please interview Brandon right after the anesthesia wears off. How many in here believing that “ CornPop” will be part of his reference?

I am not worry. Ole girl Kamala would just simply cackle like a hyena at the nuclear football. We are all safe...for now.
