The Jalen Green experience has become… boring.

bad-to-mediocre play with some flashes sprinkled every now and then. remarkable media-savvy for a 19-yr old. Cliches and platitudes about "keeping it up and keeping up the hard work” together with the occasional flashes of undisputed talent has had the effect to preemptively disarm any harsh media treatment and “bust"-narratives.

Had the media turned-up on him, things would have been more volatile but more interesting: it could have either crushed him or made him find his testicular fortitude. Now he’s stuck in this middle-land where he’s paid pretty well, with above NBA MLE salary for a well-bellow average NBA player, a 19-year-old multimillionaire without much pressure on him, hooping semi-recreationally, and enjoying life. Good for him but a bit boring.

I thought at first his agenda was just really loving Sengun at the expense of Green but in reality he just wants to trigger people. It's been a common theme of his across subforums here.

Yeah, I mean just look at his posts to likes ratio. He's just an inflammatory poster that nobody likes. Just ignore him and you'll be better off for it

It will average out by the end of season. Plus guards are chucking more and more threes, FG percentage will continue to go down

When players are good, it shows up in their on-off splits.
With Sengun on the court the team's eFG%, pace, and offensive rating gets a boost...with Green on the court those take a hit.

If what you are doing works, you'll be able to see it statistically.

My "agenda" is just impartial analysis, that "triggers" delusional Jalen Green fans because he's objectively been one of the worst players in the entire league this season.....and they desperately want to hold on to fantasies of him being the next MJ.

Rockets fans though should have no problem with it.

If Jalen can just be more consistent with his shooting, learn to finish strong with contact in the paint, become decent at finding teammates for easy buckets, and not be a negative on defense, I can't see him being worse than a top 2 player in this draft.

Good news is that all of the above is stuff he can do with the right work ethic.

He already has all of the physical gifts that can't be taught. Which is why he was projected to go #2 or #3 over guys that might have more skill right now but lack the gifts that could have made them one of the top players in the league.

I have you pegged as many things, but “impartial” is definitely not one of them.

If anyone calls Jalen Green the next MJ they need to get their head out of their ass—but I’ve never seen a single person making the comparison.

To be fair, there were several comps to MJ and Kobe predraft

And every single one of them was referring to style of play not level of play.

No, no they weren’t. They were comparing athleticism, size coming into the league, upside.
There were several people here claiming he could be the next Kobe or MJ.

Never heard them comparing upside of MJ. Just that he had a similar frame, spring ability and movements that were similar. Nothing about "he might be the goat one day". Never seen that.

So, saying he moves like MJ, plays like MJ, same mentality as MJ. But not MJ, makes sense.

There is so much more to becoming a great player than moving like MJ or having similar athleticsm to MJ such as court awareness, jump shot ability etc. Green obviously doesn't have those traits yet. He's 19. I have no clue what he's going to be like when he's 21. 99.999% sure that it ain't going to be near GOAT status.

One of Green's biggest flaws right now at 19 is his strength. When he fills out, we will have a better picture of what his actual potential will be.

I agree with you. There were still people comparing him to MJ predraft. Those expectations are what got him drafted. His upside being in the mold of Kobe, MJ and other elite 6’6 hyper athletic 2 guards.

Those expectations are also too much pressure for the kid.
