It honestly makes sense that vaccines would be required and not allow for weekly testing. Weekly testing doesn't prevent the spread the same as a vaccine nor protect those that aren't vaccinated. There is overlap with testing where the status would still be undetermined.

At my work we are all vaccinated AND still test weekly.

Weekly testing option is under OSHA, not federal employee/contractor. There is always a health exemption for any vaccine mandate. Not sure so about religious exemption.

You quoted a lawyer representing people fighting getting vaccinated.

Yep... the lack of evidence unequivocally proves it is true.

You do realize this refers to contractors, not regular federal employees...

Your point? I specifically said that there are medical and religious exemptions. I am refuting the fact that you say people can test weekly, not get the vaccine, and remain employed.

You claim that people are leaving their job strictly for political reasons, when in reality a person who makes the choice that the vaccine is not right for them has no choice other than to get it or be fired. My point stands to your closed-mindedness

What do you think about people who make a choice that working in an office is not right for them. Do you think it's wrong for them to be fired if their manager says they have to work in the office?

If the employer says that you must work in the office, that is completely up to them, and yes, they should be able to fire you.

For the record, I have no problem with an employer saying that you must be vaccinated to stay employed with that company. I have an issue with the Federal Government mandating to companies that they must enforce vaccinations for their employees. In your example, this would be the Government telling an employer, they must require that their employees work in the office or they must fire them.

Employers should have the right to make the choice as to whether they want to mandate vaccines amongst their employees.

Most people resisting the vaccinations *are* doing this for political reasons. Very few have actual medical or religious (what ever example that might be). In fact, its likely that more people use fake documents trying to get out of vaccinations... so they are being more stringent about medical exclusions.

But the federal government has the authority to put workplace requirements in place that affect the general public health. So, if you're fine with employees not having the right to remain employed if they refuse to be vaccinated, why is it a problem if the vaccine requirement is coming from the federal government?

If this really had nothing to do with general public health, I'd understand your position better. But this is a matter of severe national importance.

Should the federal government surrender all OSHA laws in place to protect the safety of workers? Or just those laws protected workers from COVID-19?

I know many people that refuse to take any medications because they are very conservative with what they put in their body and are concerned with side effects. That is their prerogative and has nothing to do with their politics. It is people like you that make it a political issue when it is not.

There obviously is a line to the authority that the Government should have and obviously we differ in where that line should be.

    Nothing to do with politics...

Sure... it is just a coincidence that the vast majority of those wo oppose the vaccinations are trump supporters? Who had no issues having their children getting the large number of required vaccinations to enroll in school?
