The MSNBC reporter told police he was under orders to photograph jury. I dont know laws on this , but jail time seems appropriate.
This is very serious..this is about putting the jury livelihoods at risk. Hope they pursue this all the way with full investigation
its yet another reason for a mistrial due to jury intimidation though not a justification for mistrial by prejudice.
Did this case have a special exemption from the first amendment? Where there supposed to be an anonymous jury? Like it or not, the press has the right to the know the identities of this jury. If you believe in the 2nd Amendment you must believe in the 1st.
The Jury hasn't been photographed at all, Only those inside the courtroom know their identities. The press knows better than to photograph a jury. The judge can seal the jury information if he deems it necessary to protect them - the jury - from harm and or retribution.
Did the judge seal the names of the jury members? If not then MSNBC broke no laws. It’s part of the freedom of information. It’s been fought over in court before.
I too don’t know the laws on this, but I think they should cut off the reporters head and place it on a stake outside of the courthouse.
Is there an actual news article that reports they he said this? That’s pretty damning, if true, but tweets without links aren’t the most reliable source.
The 'reporter' said his supervisor told him to follow the bus according to what the judge said. I just went back and listened to Schroeder's words. Now, it can be inferred he intended to take photos, but that's not what the judge said this morning.
Thanks. Hadn’t heard it from the judge. Why did the person tweeting this add “and take photos”? Any other source for that, or just made up?
from the police who arrested him. it says 'suspected' though, but why else does a reporter follow the jury bus other then to dox them.
No idea. I heard the judge responding live and didn't remember him saying it so I went back and checked. You can go here and skip to 2:57:10 to see the judge taking about this.
