Seriously, do you understand the problem with your logic? You can't point to their overall record as a testament to their strength while ignoring their performance against contenders.
The only one using faulty logic is the person deciding after 15 games that the team who is currently still the title favorite is actually not a contender because of the results of a handful of games against tougher opponents.
15 games is too early to judge whether a team like the Nets or Bucks or Lakers isn't good enough to win the title. These teams deserve the benefit of the doubt because of the talent on their roster and their performances last season. the Warriors and Wizards on the other hand are still TBD imo. I love their start and are definitely rooting for them, but it'll take a lot more than 1 month of games for me to have any faith in them to win the title or even make the conference finals. Curry is great and the warriors are playing great, but their roster/talent isn't one of the best 4 or 5 in the league. By Jan or Feb if Klay is back to 75% or better and the Warriors are still playing well, I'll certainly be buying their stock. Simply because of how great we know KD can be + a healthy Harden + the performance we saw in the last postseason, I still have the Nets as the clear favorite to win the title. The Irving situation is definitely a problem but it isn't a disqualifying one. KD alone came within a couple of inches of eliminating last years championship winning team.
Please quote me where I said the Nets aren't contenders. I specifically said they were one of the top 4 teams in the east. Poor logic and poor reading comprehension.....the hallmarks of a Harden-only fan.
They think there are issues now? Wait until the playoffs when Harden shows up drunk/concussed/with no help/ injured or whatever the excuse will be this year. Harden better hop KD gets that toe behind the line this time and carries him to the finish.
Is James harden really having a terrible season or have we just been spoiled by by his extraordinary play the past 7 years currently sitting at 9th in bbref mvp tracker https://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/mvp.html and is rated at the 4th best player in the league according to Kevin Peltons WARP metric
So then what exactly in the hell was the point of you even responding to my original post? Screamin A’s little hissy fit tirade was just a bunch of bullshit sky is falling nonsense for views. No denying that. I called it out for what it was. And you couldn’t resist responding and arguing even though in the end you still think they are contenders? lol And Jesus Christ…. How someone like yourself with the stench of Currys seed so strong on your breath would attempt to make fun of someone for being a so called player only fan is high comedy.
You made it seem like the Nets had nothing to worry about b/c despite their problems, they were still the #3 seed. I was simply correcting you. I'm a fan of Curry, but I'm also a fan of plenty of other players as well. The reason you think I'm a Curry-only fan is because you're a Harden-only fan which means you'll unfairly criticize Curry at every turn, and I'll call you out on it and correct you.
There's a difference between what Wade did and what Harden did. Also, everyone acknowledges that finals series was fishy. Harden would literally hook opponents' arms with his off arm and then immediately gather the ball to draw a "foul" on the defense. That should always have been an offensive foul.
Nothing helps the rockets more than the nets breaking up although their anticipated demise is way premature.
But the thing is you haven’t corrected anything. They don’t have anything to worry about. Yet. Because 15 games into the season, in spite of their(Harden’s) slow start, where I would say the consensus is they have not come anywhere near to playing to their peak capability, they still find themselves 1 game out of 1st. Not a bad outcome for a team that expects to improve even if Kyrie never shows up. I wouldn’t personally be banking on Kyrie coming around, but behind closed doors maybe they might know a little more to have a better idea? Which would only further their improvement on what they have shown so far. Criticize Curry at every turn and call me out? I can’t even recall the last time we had a back and forth of any kind. I’d actually love to be proven wrong if you have this long list of unfair criticisms you could site at a rate that one would consider “criticizing at every turn”
I'm correcting you here and now. You're only looking at the Nets' potential improvement while ignoring the Bucks/Bulls/Heat. If Kyrie never shows up, the potential improvement of these 3 teams is much more than the Nets'. The Bucks would be getting Middleton and Lopez back. The Bulls are getting Coby White back, and their primary players are relatively unfamiliar with each other. The Heat are still adjusting to Lowry. There's a thread about whether or not Curry can carry his team. It's full of unfair criticisms.
What in the world? You aren’t correcting anything because I’m not and have not claimed these other teams won’t improve. I literally said in one of my first responses to you that I believe the Nets and Bucks will be the top two teams in the East going into the playoffs. Literally predicting the Bucks who have a losing record will drastically turn things around. Two things can exist. Nets can have little to no worries at this very moment and have an understanding that other teams will improve. Kindly provide the long list of my criticisms “at every turn”. Should be easy.
You overlooked the improvement of the other teams. I corrected that oversight. It's extremely easy. Read that thread.
So nothing and nothing then. You know you dun goofed. All this started with was me remarking on how dumb SAS’s rant was. Clear sensationalism and hyperbole for ratings. It did not have merit. The reasons why it has no merit are clear. Extremely early in the season. Harden has mostly sucked but has clearly begun turning things around, 1 game out of 1st(and now only 1 game back in loss column from 1st). Last 10 games 8-2, 3rd in net rating, 1st in EFG, 1st in TS%. They aren’t worried about a god damn thing. At no point in any of my explanations of why the Nets have nothing to worry about did I say that they don’t have to worry about other teams getting better. In fact I predicted another slow starter in Milwaukee would greatly improve. Again if what you said is true. That I am a Harden only fan who unfairly criticizes Curry “at every turn” it should take you no more than 10 minutes to pull large quantities of these occurrences.
Are the people saying Harden is done, the same people saying 'it's just X amount of games' in the Jalen Green threads?
And you never said they did, but they do. You made an oversight and I corrected it. There's literally a 100+ page thread about it. Just look for your posts.
