People looting and setting fires were a problem. Those could have all been dealt with even if citizens hadn't brought their guns. Guns were a problem. The people with guns is what killed folks.
If the state withheld evidence from the defense, the Judge could declare a guilty verdict null and void by declaring a mistrial with prejudice. The state claimed that the low quality footage was the best they had, while sitting on the high quality footage the entire time. Witholding evidence from the defense is the biggest no-no you can commit in criminal law. Prosecutors and DAs have been de-barred or even arrested for stunts like these.
The Police were under orders to abandon the town and the national guard weren't called in while Kenosha burned. None of this would have happened if the Mayor and/or Governor did their jobs.
You are free to make that argument. It doesn't change the fact that there were better ways to protect businesses than having untrained folks with guns go there.
Now the Jury is reviewing the same low-res video instead of the high res one. Didn't we have an entire trial?
Prosecution should be held accountable for their gimmicks with the video they shared with the defense. There isn't an excuse for that.
Peaceful protests have never had this happen. Do you consider looting/burning peaceful protests. I dont, thishas been the only death in the protests that have been with a person that isn't a member of BLM. How many people have died at the hands of BLM supporters during the riots? The BLM'ers want to be able to riot/loot/kill with no repercussions. But they want serious repercussions for anybody who defends themselves against the BLM'ers.
People kill people Guns dont kill people. People were killing people with knives/swords and bows/ arrows before there were guns. Apparently you dont believe in the 2nd Amendment.
You really have a problem with seeing both sides of a situation. How does "protesting" in the middle of the night and lighting cars and buildings on fire help? I agree that the kid shouldn't have been there with a gun. I also think a bunch of protestors lighting **** on fire in the middle of the night is not the best way to get people to see your side. High emotions and chaos on both sides causes bad **** to happen, but when you have angry armed people all looking for a fight, a fight will happen, and it's impossible to figure out beyond a reasonable doubt who was at fault because they all are partially responsible. I analogize this the twin peaks shooting in Waco. A ton of people got shot, a ton of people died, with a ton of witnesses. Not one person involved in that incident was convicted. When you more than one person with a weapon willing to shoot to defend themselves, it's almost impossible to figure out who wasn't actually defending themselves.
Where I grew up there were 3 different small towns. But they are all considered part of a community. I know it doesn't apply in this case, but the county you live in is considered community.
So you're against people being able to protect themselves. Duly noted. I love the Texas law on this subject.
Was Dorn killed by a protester? I’m not aware of any cases of actual protesters affiliated with BLM shooting people. There was a case of some Antifa guy killing someone.
His CCW was expired which makes it illegal to conceal carry. In Wisconsin, you can open carry, but you must have a valid CCW to conceal carry. Additionally, he pointed his illegal pistol at Rittenhouse with bad intent.
With all due respect I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. How many people have died at the hands of BLM supporters???.... Given that like 60% of the country believes that black lives do matter I would say the rate of murders of those who support the notion that black lives do matter is pretty damn low. I do remember the Dallas shooter who was ex military but I don't recall him holding a position within the BLM organization. But to the best of my recollection murder is not often a fixture at protests. Burning of a trash can or a broken window can happen after hours with some provocateur's and stupid kids. That's not okay either, but it's not mass murder. Also on the Dallas shooter... how many people from the Left where cheering him on like a hero??? How many people on the right think Kyle Rittenhouse is a hero??? Exactly.
Nope. I love people being able to protect themselves. I own 4 guns. I don't carry them out of my house unless I'm going to a range or competition. Just a thought. If you had to change what I was saying in order to make a point, you might not have had that strong of a point to begin with.
