They're willfully ignorant. They would rather just be obtuse and pretend a rookie is the reason this dumpster fire of a team is losing.

Silas is either clueless AF or stubborn AF.

    Likely both.

Change your F'ing rotation, no more excuses.

And stop empowering low IQ players like House to playmake.

When house ignored the easy pass for a layup to try a poster dunk I laughed my ass off. I don't remember who it was but he looked him dead in the eye and said nah I'm good and tried to yam that thing lmfao

I actually believe House deliberately tries to get as many missed dunks as he can in a game. Like it's a competition or something, I can't remember the last time he didn't fluff an attempt at a big dunk when he's played.

I'm not even for firing him but I wouldn't be surprised if he was. I'm a strong believer that it never makes much sense to fire a coach mid-season because usually whoever you put in his place will be just as bad if not worse. usually nothing is accomplished and you put in a rubber duck coach that the players wont' respect because they know he's gone after the season. No. Keep him for the season. He at least deserves that much. It's his ship so he can steer it away from the iceberg or into it.

But my point is he's a big reason they are playing this poorly...and if they turn it around and become a respectable bad team, he gets credit for that too. He's part of the team.

Also, not naive, I've never heard of a coach intentionally losing games...at the start of the season no less. Remember, this is Silas career. He gets no benefit from tanking. If the Rockets tank and win 8 games who takes the blame for that? Silas. When Silas tries to get another job that's on his record. Silas gets benefits from overachieving, if this team finished 10th and snuck into the playoffs via play in game (not saying that will happen) that immediately sets him up for being here longer or getting a job at a better place. That immediately makes him look like a future COTY candidate and mainstay on the bench.

Like he gets nothing from tanking. Don't even say "Well he gets to draft another top 5 pick!" That never works out. The coach during the tank job always gets thrown under the bus, know why? Because that coach loses the team and becomes incapable of even coaching the guys.

So if there is some kind of wink wink deal where Tilman and Stone are telling Silas to intentionally lose games and they won't fire him then he's a damn fool, because they will. Coach's hired during a rebuild rarely keep their job through it and then their resume is stuck with the stink of that rebuild.

So no. I'm not buying that he's intentionally losing games. coaches don't do that, that's why they play those vets over rookies in the first place because they don't care about long term development, they care about winning now. Winning now is what goes on their resume. Not tanking.

Like I root for the guy, he was my avatar last year...but it is what it is and I see what I see...and no structure, no execution, no discipline, giving up before halftime...that's what I see. Coach has to be a leader of the team, strategy wise and mental wise and I'm not seeing it from Silas. I see a team with 0 confidence that they can win a game. He let it get this bad.

Another reason Theis should not start with Wood.

Jalen Green Only Fans should demand Theis come off bench too.

He's not gonna get fired this early, THAT would be stupid.

In the history of coaching, they are ALWAYS the scapegoat. Show me a young team that played well. There arent. Luke freaking Walton is not known as a good coach and he has a better roster AND more time. Sometimes you have bad players and you cant execute. There is no hard ass coach who can some in and make these guys better than what they are.

Lol no coach is gonna come out and say "yea we are tanking" that never happens, ever. The Rockets gave him his first head coaching job. Its very possible that Stone and him had conversations about it, whats so unbelievable about it.

Um yea there have, Brett Brown literally endured multiple tanking seasons. His first head coaching job was with the Sixers. No one even remembers Brett Brown on those bad 76ers team, no they remember him when he was failing with the Sixers to get them over the hump.

It could be one of many reasons. It could also be that Alps not ready and/or Thesis was promised minutes. Not to mention THE SAMPLE SIZE IS VERY LOW. WE DONT KNOW is my point.

You see a bunch of young players failing to execute plays like all young players. It is what it is. We'll find out in time.

now this is an emotional and panic reaction, whats gonna happen if silas is fired, is sky gonna fall?[IMG]

i dont care if its middle of the night, middle of the game or middle of the season, but hire a good coach before this historically bad clown, son of the historically bad clown, ruins all of our yungins and before we become historically bad franchise like the one his father set on his losing way sealing its destiny forever!

They play too fast. The team don't have fast dribblers, super prone to TO when in transition. Many forces errant long passes, or the guy leading the break is not looking for the catch.

There is no Nash on this team to run the break. Not calling the players dim, but not everyone is a quick decision maker or read the floor well. The system should tailor to the skill set of the roster. If bball IQ and court vision is not there, slow the F down; so the team is not having more TO than assists.

People talk about how fast the NBA is, some players adapt to it, but what if these players can't ever lean to adapt. And it doesn't help when the coach ask them to play faster than they are capable.

Half court offense stinks so at times Rockets seems to double down on 'pace', only to compound the issue and be down double digits.

Playing fast seems affects their conditioning where it leads to bad shooting. The comical air balls, the bricks, pace is too frantic physically and mentally for this roster.

    Hide weaknesses not highlight them.

It's like Silas has an idea of how a good offense could be but that version doesn't match the players strengths.

Choose your timing on when to play fast, maybe only run it with certain units...etc.

If Silas feels the options are so limited because the players are not good enough, he needs to tell Stone and get players with those skill sets.

Being an idealist rather than a realist hurts the players and their growth.

gotta correct, RIGHT COACH over good coach...good coach might not be the right coach.

besides, according to some CFs the penny pinch ferntits could hardly be willing to fire silas bc that might result in pouring 0.5-1.5 mil down the drain, but im just wondering if ferntits would rather allow a situation like wall's 40mil contract getting rotten on bench happened, why will he be bothered by a loss of 0.5-1.5il to let silas go.
