I'm not sure how this is a 'terrible' team...they even finished above their expected record and odds. So it looks like he overachieved...once again...as great coaches tend to do.

And their net was -2.8 so they were competing night in and night out...which you cannot say about this team.

 

Silas has been sitting both green and kpj when they make bad turnovers or don’t get back on defense … it’s what other players are coming in earlier and earlier

Can’t have Wood Theis and Tate on floor together … no spacing …everytime KPJ or Green look to drive it’s always a crowd near the rim - making layups difficult

 

So is Luka Doncic.

Atlanta only won 20 games in Trae's second season after winning 29 the previous season. They dropped from a winning percent of 35 to 29. In 18-19 they started the season at 2-2.................then lost 14 of the next 15 games. It happens to rebuilding teams

 

You can move that contract if needed. It isn't that big

Silas didnt make the trade for him, Stone did and Stone got nothing in return. Silas wanted him but he didnt hold a gun to Stone's head. Like playing him alongside Wood when we are tanking and dont even have a sustainable sample size yet is really just jumping the gun. You need to calm down.

Man, I cant wait till we hire that next coach and he gets us 20 wins and then when we are inevitably good, we fire him too? Lol like what do you want me to say. You are making sweeping judgements asking for a coach to be fired when you have almost no knowledge of what his happening internally.

We are also 10 games into the season and nothing is set in Stone(lol pun not intended). Like I said you need to give them time instead of overreacting to everything. Could we be really bad yea, should we panic....no.

 

This "on pace" argument is so stupid. A team that wins the first game of the season is on pace to win 82......................


I have seen bad teams and lots have no upside, we have a very young team that has a lot of upside and will take time.

Bro...it matters because the reason you gave was bad. You said maybe they are playing Theis to up his trade value...they literally just signed this guy to a minimal 3 year contract. How is this in any way good? Either the FO is stupid and made a terrible decision or the coach is stupid...which one is it. Choose one.

You're assuming Stone wants him to start Theis. You're assuming a lot. I'm assuming nothing. I'm assuming that the coach makes this decision because that's usually how it goes. In fact, there was one time where Adelman was pissed that Morey traded a veteran player to get a younger player more PT which indicated that the GM actually didn't agree with the lineup. For all we know, Stone is just as frustrated with the lineups.

You are literally the only guy here excusing his lineups. Like really, the first one. You really reached deep into the bag to invent some reason that they are playing Theis with Wood although it's clear to everyone that it's not working.

Unlike KPJ/Green, who are both young, Theis and Wood are finished projects. There is no reason to keep banging your head against the wall with this lineup.

If your idea is to trade him then you're doing a great job in making him lose value, not gain it.

 

And the Mavs might have the only coach in the league worse than Silas, Jason Kidd.

 

You're only argument is "It's early." but the team has not looked better, they have actually started to look worse.

The FO is stupid for signing him and now that they realize he is bad, they need to trade him. But to trade him....they need to up his value, that or they are in the tank here...idk. I literally just said signing him was a bad idea to begin with.

For non tanking teams, sure. But we dont know how it goes. Neither you nor I do. But I would assume is that Silas knows a little more than the knee jerk reactions of the people in here. But you're right, no one knows anything, so knee jerk reactions like idk "fire coach Silas" is well .....bad.

Im not, its objectively bad lol. Why would I care about a lineup for a team that is tanking? But also...why would care enough to fire a coach about a lineup 11 games into the season? Maybe he'll change it or maybe not. Maybe you should wait and see instead of panicking at a bad, YOUNG team.

I dont know how to respond to this? 11 games is not a large sample size. Like yea its a bad lineup, but also....nothing is really sustainable yet. Not to mention....we are a tanking team. So again...there are many reasons that could be out there, the important thing IS TO NOT PANIC AND MAKE SWEEPING JUDGEMENTS. Im not simping for anyone. Im just not concerned about anything this early.

Well maybe that changes, we are only 11 games in, and its a reason, there could be other reasons. Reasons that you or I are not privy to. Or hey...he could be bad....but hey, we need to give it time. If he's bad...maybe Stone fires him, if he's good he stays. But the important thing right now is to wait and see, not panic and make knee jerk reactions. No one in here knows anything about coaching.

 

lol flipping a switch is exactly what you are hoping they will do instead of being patient and letting them develop and grow. you want results right away.
