Is it more important to develop KPJ into a point guard than to develop Green into a competent NBA player right now? I'd say yes but the bigger question is: Why are they hellbent on developing KPJ into a point guard when they could develop BOTH KPJ and Green into better scorers by developing Sengun into a passing big? The learning curve there is obviously lower and you get the best of both worlds: Sengun handling the ball, making everyone's life easier with better passing that leads to higher % shots for the team.

You're delusional. We have one of the greatest passing big men ever in DaSagana Diop working with Sengun every day as an assistant. Without Diop's tutelage Sengun would be utter trash. Silas:Luka:: Diop:Sengun

Timelines…. We will pick up KPJ team option for next season but then what? We need to see what we have in KPJ.

Maybe we move Wood+ KPJ for Ayton in the off-season? Maybe KPJ shows a lot promise in the second half of the season.

I still think KPJ can be a very good player, just not a starting point guard. We can see what we have in KPJ as a score-first point guard with someone else on point guard duties. I think the returns on that version of KPJ will be higher than PG KPJ but that's just me.

I agree I feel like Sengun is getting better and better the more he plays

But we still have to make a decision on KPJ and other players like Wood and Tate sooner than later while Green, Sengun, Christopher and Garuba are on year one of rookie deals.

I don’t know KPJs future but the FO is giving him 2021 season to show his potential.

Yea I just took a look at the first 2022 mock draft lists and while there are really nice prospects in the front court there's not much to select from at the top of the lottery in terms of play makers / point guards. If things fall into place and we end up with a top 3 pick and select from one of Banchero, Holmgren or Duren to pair with Sengun in the front court we are still in need of a steady hand at the point guard spot. Could it be KPJ? I guess but I think this is a case where you have to start thinking about acquiring a point guard somewhere down the road, to either start and run the offense or be KPJ's backup (in an ideal scenario?).

I think the Rockets aren’t going to go for broke again next season and maybe we will pick up someone like Rubio in the off-season.

KPJ is 21 and Segun is 19. Of course you should look to develop KPJ since he's got one more season until you have to sign him in RFA or let him go. Segun will be in this same position over the next rookie we get next season.

If they manage to draft a franchise quality player next year, it'll change everything. Not having a franchise quality player on the roster right now is a big part of the problem.

KPJ has Russell Westbrook point guard skills minus the driving aggression

I appreciate the passion, but I dont remember accusing you of anything?? I made a general comment on the vibe in the thread and how some were leaning on Green "twisting an ankle" as some sort of positive in getting him out of the lineup. A rookie can be benched with little to no need to expand or answer "why" and make excuses for him one way or the other. Im perfectly fine with benching Green for a more cohesive game plan and team building, but I wont go so far as applauding an injury or even making a claim like that - the kid is stinking it up and that should be plenty reason to allow him to sit.

Russell Westbrook actually has amazing point guard skills....so this isn't the statement you think it is.

Westbrook's problem is and has always been that he's a moron. When he plays as a PG instead of a ridiculous chucker, he's damn good.....but he's a moron, so he always turns into the ridiculous chucker eventually which kills his team.

KPJ right now still turns the ball over too much.....but the top 2 players in NBA history when it comes to turnovers are James Harden and Russell Westbrook....so if KPJ turns into a less efficient Harden or a more efficient Westbrook, that's a massive win.

Damn, then Jalen Green must REALLY be a waste of time. KPJ is a slight net positive when he's on the court according to his on-off splits, Jalen Green is by far the largest detriment to the team when he's on the court according to his on-off splits.
