Yes, Green has his flaws. His shot is ugly and isn’t a good finisher in traffic yet. But Silas isn’t making it any easier for Green. Theis is clogging up the paint. I don’t care how well he’s been playing lately, but the fact is that opponents simply don’t respect his jump shot. Since we are losing anyway, we need to space the floor for Green to use his speed to blow past defenders. We have nothing to lose! Right now the opposing big man are just camping in the paint waiting for him. It’s hurting KPJ too. Wood is being forced to camp outside the three point line instead of being the main roll man in PnRs.
Jalen Green has played in 13 games and has only 1 career win, and still has the same amount of NBA Championships as CP3 in 16 yrs of trying. That’s my takeaway tonight.
Green needs the bench. Or the G-League. And a defensive coach. And a handling coach. And a shooting coach.
Yes, I think he mainly needs teaching and accountability. He needs a coach who helps him. It doesn't seem to be happening so far.
Lmao, the WCF and one Finals showing does not count in this stratosphere. CP3 and Barkley show it is not a foregone conclusion to win one.
He made a big mistake not going to college (in terms of basketball career). He should be leader on some college team and learn how to be one. Now he is going to learn role of a spot up shooter because his body can't handle anything else
Sending Jalen to the bench may be in the best interest of everyone right now. Sharks are circling. Take some of the pressure off of players and coach.
Jalen Green simply wasn't worth that number 2 pick. It was obvious even before we drafted him, but we needed to sell tickets, and he's popular with younger fans. He can still turn out to be a decent player, if he works hard. He clearly belongs in the league, but unless he takes a HUGE step in the coming off season, he'll never be a number 1 option on a championship team. Most fans are extremely bad at predicting player success, and clutchfans is no different. How he looks beginning of next season will be a key indicator in how far he can go. He won't have time during the season to work on what he needs to take the next step, and firing Silas or changing the system won't change that. Looking forward to next season. If we actually draft the best player available, we'll be in a good spot.
