    Any one using billboards for their small business? I'm about to sign on with Clear Channel for some spots for my business, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and with the effectiveness of the campaign

    It's hard to quantify. Sorry. But there was one large account years ago landed due to a billboard bringing back in touch an old acquaintance.

    If you have a location specific billboard, like it says, "exit now" then that's different and probably more impactful in 2021.

    On track to spend 8mil in ads this year in the home service industry. Only have 1 digital billboard that costs $700/month and has generated 1 tracked phone call Q3. Does it work? Who knows, man. Probably not. Better ways to advertise in 2021 IMO.

    What ya advertising and to who? Whom?

    I waste a ton of money every year experimenting and nothing ever seems to beat Google Ads. But it really depends on the industry/product.

    I've been doing this for over a decade but still learning every day. Definitely don't have all the answers. But always fun to riff.

    +1. All depends on your product and target demographic.

    @RKREBORN what are you advertising?

    It depends on your field. In mine, which is investments, radio is always the best, but it is expensive.

    Unless you’re targeting people 70+ ,or as mentioned earlier advertising to take the next exit, I’d use social media. You can track the effectiveness of your ads and make adjustments.

    Radio - audience aside - depends on traffic/drive-time not just age.

    I was thinking about this and the effectiveness of billboards has to have diminished greatly over the past 10 years due to people either looking at the road or their phone.

    Recently with the shift to work from home jobs, they have to have lost even further effectiveness due to less commuting.

    Like @CCorn said, they're sunsetting with the Boomers.

    Yee. I don't do them. I hate them.

    It just doesn't work. Except... when it works. Buccees for example. Or any viral billboard that garners social shares. Or perfectly placed ones (home elevation near a neighborhood that flooded).

    I haven't listened to the radio in over 15 years and neither do I look at social media ads, but I do pay attention to almost every billboard on the highway.

    Cheap Hologram Hookers are loaded with billboards in the future. On one tit you are watching p*rn. On the other tit there is an Ad for more p*rn. But the hood news is you can have up to six t*** before the upload fees kick in.

    Let me know the ones you don't get. EDIT: Fun Fact: I was on a date in the 90's and the girl asked what was my Favorite movie. I said "UHF." She went to the bathroom and never came back.
