I think he's a coach which can be with the team for a decade + At the moment though games here and there are head scratching with his rotations. Hopefully he tidies that up.
Agree 100%. This is a fun team to watch and it all boils down to better motion on offense and a very well made defensive strategy. I keep saying that this offense won't work with iso type players and so far we have a good unit built for this playbook.
Silas aint perfect - but at least he's not a condescending stubborn prick... ...and whatever deficiencies do exist - I think he will identify them and adjust accordingly... ...jus sayin...
Silas is clearly great but somehow still has some growing up to do. This is the perfect season to do that. He’s going to be tremendous next season. Btw Dallas’ offense went from best ever to mediocre with barely any change in the roster. My concern about Silas was his ability to coach defense, but he is proving he can do it just as well as Bzdelik.
MDA had some merit. His style brought us success but it’s always been limited; going back to the Suns days. I saw an interview of Shawn Marion recently where he said they basically camped around the 3 point line and waited on Steve Nash. He’s salty lol. But those Suns teams were good. You always knew they couldn’t win the Finals though. He’s the consummate “good but not great” coach. Silas may be a genius
I give credit to the whole coaching staff - defensive and offensive strategy is a team effort and the players are obviously buying into not only what Silas is preaching but also that of the entire coaching staff. Never thought I'd indirectly give a compliment to Jeff Hornacek but these are crazy times we're living in.
Given the age and inexperience of the team, I don’t think there is a coach on earth that could do better. However I do expect for them to be playing more in sync by the end of the season.
Silas needs to do three things: -Improve their FREETHROWS -Slow down the TURNOVERS -Change Porter to Small Forward, and make Porter concentrate on scoring....he should be averaging 20 points a game

Respectfully, I disagree. The head coach has a ton of influence on setting the culture of a team. This is a young group of impressionable guys. I see a lot of complaining for calls, moping over missed shots, posing after jumpers, and TERRIBLE transition defense, especially after turnovers or blown layups. There isn’t a single player on this roster that is above being taken out of a game when they pull that crap. As far as tactics, I don’t expect to see the 2016 Warriors out there but we look like an AAU team. I don’t see any semblance of an offensive gameplan. If there is one, and the guys aren't following it, then he needs to sub them out for guys who will. We are actually pretty talented; young and inexperienced but talented nonetheless. If we’re going to chuck threes all day at least we can run it from a spread pick and roll everytime down so that guys know where to be. I see too many possessions where the floor isnt balanced and we have two players occupying the same space on the perimeter. He has to teach/coach in-game and I’m just not seeing it. Finally, the rotations are awful. KJ Martin is clearly better than House and only gets to play when we have injuries or in garbage time. Green is always in the game w/ KPJ, we should stagger them more to see what Green can really do when given the initiator on offense. Sengun needs more minutes, he actually passes in the halfcourt — and not just as a last resort. Anyways, I had an open mind about Silas but it’s closing pretty rapidly. These games are really tough to watch and he has a lot to do with it.
There’s no more indication in basketball of bad coaching than turnovers, bad free throw shooting, and no discipline. He needs to go.
He'll be around as long as we're tanking. Hopefully they don't wait to move on too long so as not to stunt our young players' development!
Yep. I definitely have changed my time now. Here we are and he's still doing the same stupid sh*t. Except this time we've got an amazing young talent he's refusing to develop correctly. He needs to go for sure.
