Rich is comparing apple with orange. Houston DOES NOT WANT Wall to play. Philly WANTS Simmons to play. When your boss tells you to take a paid vacation, you take a paid vacation. When your boss tells you to come to work and you don't, you don't get paid.
What's funny is that Rich Paul could have helped this issue from the beginning if he had properly advised Simmons during the offseason and had him participate in practices, shootaround, preseason games, etc. just to show the league and GMs that he can be professional about this situation (despite whatever Doc or the Sixers have said), thereby rebuilding his trade value.
What's up with some of these retired players losing their minds recently? First Scottie now Zeke? Shaq might have shot poorly at the FT line but he could still give you 28/10/3 blocks and dominate.
...nearly singlehandedly win playoff games and score points in the 4th qtr. Ben has had total scoring playoff games, in which Shaq had sometimes in one quarter, alone. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/most-points-scored-by-ben-simmons-in-a-playoff-game
Alot of that hinges on if that team "wants" Ben Simmons to if that team "needs" Ben Simmons, along with "is it worth it?" Doesn't Ben want to play in California? Also, does incoming superstar want to play in Philly? Top 30 NBA players, right now -- Don't need a big. Who is going to give up their top scorer/contributor for Ben Simmons, right now or two years? https://www.si.com/nba/2021/09/22/r...-2022-damian-lillard-paul-george-jayson-tatum Nearly every player in the top 20 is untouchable. Five is plausible, but 10 is a big stretch.
Sorry I thought as a rapid Rockets fan I thought you had seen one of the dozens of interviews where Morey mentions relationships, or you remember what he did for Parsons so he would recruit Howard or Remember the ad he ran thanking Harden
Multi-year thing, lol... At the end of the day $$ rules, and certainly not every player will be on Simmons' "side"... but agents play a huge part in this game, and if they let this go on multi-year, its a bad bad look for DM and Philly, imo.
Trade Simmons for Kyrie. Done and done. Well, assuming Kyrie's willing to play in Philadelphia. It's an opportunity to get paid without having to get vaccinated.
