Hard to see how a trade was ever going to happen this season other than him agreeing to opt out for next season as part of the trade if he really wanted a role on a playoff team or a trade for smaller kinda bad deals that you could maybe flip some of those at the deadline.

I believe it's based on the total remaining on the actual current contract, so it does include next year. it's pretty much similar to Blake Griffin. He had like $75 mil remaining on his deal for 2 years (last season/21-22) and he gave back like $13 mil in a buyout. I don't think Wall is willing give up anywhere near that amount lol. he has like $82 mil for this and next. He wants it all! can't blame him

Wall is getting screwed here and so are we as fans. He's not accepting a buyout, he's owed $91 Million the next two years! I bet he wants to play and can't. Our team would improve if he played and we'd still be in the lottery. Stupid all around.

I want picks at this point. Any picks. A buy out means we get nothing. Even if we trade him we are not getting equal talent back. We did win the Westbrook trade though, for that season anyway. Neither player is playing for the team they were traded from.

We need to buyout and move and let Josh be our PG and let Porter play at SF

Wall is far from getting screwed here. He's still getting paid all his super max money and gets to stay healthy. Fans? Last I checked the rockets are one of the worst teams in the league and need that for future drafts. Wall does nothing to change that. A buyout leaves the Rockets with absolutely nothing.

buying out John Wall would give Tilman immediate savings, so if he’s still a broke boy he should be trying to get a buyout done ASAP

How are u gonna pay someone 90 mil to shoot around at practice?

I might cave in to the Wall for Simmons
We need someone who can pass the ball

He read CF's when folks kept saying KPJ/Green should be getting all the minutes in the world in the backcourt without Wall. Now at 1-10 to no surprise, Wall needs to play! classic lol

I was cool with it at 1st, but at some point u need someone who can even just pretend to be a PG, and KPJr definitely ain’t it

    Stone: "Heeeeeeeeeeeey, buddy...."
Other GM: "I wouldn't touch Wall's contract with your dick."
Stone: "Say hi to your wife for me." (click)

I think everyone that was OK with Wall sitting so that KPJ could develop (I am in that group), didn't realize that it would only take 11 games for KPJ to definitively show that he isn't a point guard.

We need a few big teams to have an injury and get desperate.

Stone and Wall's agent are seemingly just way too paranoid that he's going to get injured, and they'll be stuck together for the duration of his contract.

However it looks like that paranoia is league wide so there's no real benefit of sitting him. His value isn't increasing by the length of time he's out because it just shows how paranoid Stone and his agent are that he's brittle.

He's stuck with us. He isn't going to increase his value by sitting. He's not going to help the team win that many games. But he will potentially make life easier for Green, Wood, and EG.... maybe....

So just freaking play him. At this point there's little downside. He obviously isn't going to hurt KPJ's development which is going nowhere currently.

for better or worse, they're stuck with it. Unless they change to letting DJ start which is the only other actual pg on the roster. But that also applies to the logic of letting KPJ/JG get all the minutes which is what folks wanted.

I definitely don't think KPJ is it. But this is the bed they made unfortunately

Of course. Nobody wants the guy at this price. Telling people water is wet in Houston is getting old.

KPJ is the tank commander now. Wall is the tank general. You don't put the general out in the field.
