I mean am I freaking out or simply asking if its true? You seem to be the one freaking out lol Regardless people who defend him at point guard like to bring up he's only played 82 games prior to this season, Ive done that myself. The practices could be helpful for someone like him. Also clearly they arent mandatory as Lucas says he hopes he comes on his own. This is just a look into work ethic.
This is organization that made PJ Tucker a center and Westbrook focal point of offense… dont expect them to put players into their best positions lol
Jalen only fan? I want hard workers on the team starting, KPJ doesn't show up before shoot around to shoot extra 3s. Jalen, Alperen, Josh are showing up hours before shoot around working on their 3 Point Shooteing and working harder than KPJ. KPJ if I feel like working hard.
By just throwing up those numbers, and making that statement, you demonstrate how little understanding you have of the situation.
Seriously though... Again, he's being asked to learn the toughest position on the court...on a team full of kids...with Jalen in the same backcourt, who is also young/doesn't play off the ball... If you let KPjr get his in his flow off the wing, the numbers would look drastically different. This guy is a huge talent...maybe they ARE trying to put a square peg in a round hole...we'll see how it works out. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater though. He's a bigtime scorer off the wing with good vision, and is becoming a defensive presence.
Look at a chunk of these passes too. Guys aren't ready for them. Between that and lack of finishing on dishes....
If I'm protective of this kid, it's because like others I have a bit of a fatherly thing going for him. And, he should not be penalized while they try him out top.
Sometimes. But a lot of the time the pass is off the mark. He’ll try these bounce passes where the angle is way too close to the receiving player and it’ll take a weird bounce. Or he hits them late in the drop and the defense is already crowding him. learning the position is definitely tough. What I’m having trouble with is his mental. For example his one on one d will be great he’ll at some point get picked off and instead of going over the pick and corralling the defender or dropping to cut off the pocket pass he just dies. It’s a personal pet peeve of mine during pickup and nba games. Don’t just stay in no mans land get to the rotation faster. Get to the set faster. Make your move and don’t lose focus at the rim. If you miss run back on d faster. If you get 12 FTs convert a normal amount for a PG. his mental needs a pick me up and it just might not be in his cards.
I think the Rockets have to put their foot down. He had a manic episode in Cleveland and Houston has tried to empower him since, but I think they have enabled him. It's not okay to act the way he is acting. He reminds me of the guy in college that was a complete wreck, with the beautiful girlfriend that thought she could fix him. The more he acted out, the more attention he got. I'm get that young players are going to have learning curves, but it's not acceptable to yell at your teammates to the point where the announcers are mentioning it. It's not okay to sulk after missed shots and leave your team 5 on 4 on defense, especially when your team has lost 8 in a row with several one possession losses. I know the guy has talent, but the negative energy, turnovers and entitlement that has far outweighed his play, is starting to outweigh his potential.
Gotta get rid of him, 18 points on 11 shots, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, and a block is unacceptable.
He's talented but it's a square peg, round hole situation right now. Putting him in the point guard role was a good theory but it's just not translating to good playmaking and decision making. That's not all on KPJ; he's just not a point guard.
