Another story about someone who was unvaccinated and pushing alternate treatments dying of COVID-19. This time a licensed medical practitioner. I'm not a doctor but I know in my profession spreading misleading or false information to clients is grounds for removal of my license. I'm shocked that medical boards don't seem as strict. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2021/11/10/covid-doctor-misinformation-minnesota-vadnais-heights A Twin Cities doctor spread misinformation about COVID-19. Then he died from it Catharine Richert November 10, 2021 4:00 a.m. In life, Dr. Christopher Foley was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He cycled regularly, played handball and had a passion for Irish music. As a physician who trained in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and became a natural medicine doctor, Foley’s “passion lay truly in taking care of other people,” said his son, Logan. But through his Vadnais Heights-based practice, Foley also spread falsehoods about the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. In blog posts over the past year, Foley wrote on his practice’s website that it was dangerous to wear masks and that the drug ivermectin was a proven treatment against COVID-19 — a drug he prescribed for patients even though the Food and Drug Administration warns against it. He reposted false claims about the vaccine made by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a well-known opponent of vaccines who has been banned from social media platforms. These widely debunked claims run contrary to widely held best practices for treating and preventing COVID. But for some who believe them, misinformation has played a role in developing severe illness from the virus, or even dying. That includes Foley, who died in October of complications from COVID-19. He was 71. At his funeral, Foley’s son Logan confirmed his father’s death from COVID and that he was unvaccinated. Foley’s death certificate says tobacco use played a role in his death. It’s not clear whether Foley’s views on the virus and how to treat it harmed his patients. At his funeral, his son claimed his father helped 50 people through COVID infections. The circumstances of Foley's life and death reveal a problem that's vexed the medical profession throughout the pandemic: some licensed practitioners are fueling COVID's spread, seeding doubts about widely accepted research and medical practices, including vaccinations, that have been saving millions of lives for decades. Doctors can be particularly potent sources of misinformation, said Rachel Moran, a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Washington Center for an Informed Public. “Vocal opposition is especially damaging when it comes from these medical professionals because we ask the general public when they're feeling hesitant about the vaccine to go and discuss their concerns with a doctor,” she said. Patients, she said, trust their doctors with their lives. “If you can go online and find a medical professional who aligns with your political viewpoints about masks or a vaccine mandate, and offers up seemingly legitimate medical advice, that's going to cement your vaccine hesitancy and it’s not going to provide you with the information that you need to make a sound decision,” she said. more at link.
I saw some stats that said that during the last two years LEO are 4 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than from violence in the line of duty. Then again LEO have died while wearing body armor so clearly body armor doesn't work and LEO should not wear that.
Not here in Florida. Lowest cases in the nation... bro. Our dear governor doesn’t let people die like in the blue states . He believes in early treatments before the patient is toast. I am so lucky to have DeSantis as my governor. For those of you who live in blue states, my condolences.
Just at look at Florida which has one of the worst death rates from Covid. They tried to hide their statistics. https://www.tampabay.com/news/healt...-death-toll-in-florida-counties-went-missing/ Sad that states try to make their poor decisions go away. This just exemplifies how states can obfuscate their data.
8th highest COVID death rate in the U.S. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/ 8 of the top 10 highest death rates in the U.S. are in Red States.
What happened to the thousands of police and fire personnel that were supposed to quit instead of taking the vaccines?
Florida's current seven-day average death rate is 132, by far the highest in the country. The second highest is Ohio (77), then Pennsylvania (66), Texas (48), and Georgia (44) as the top five states in Covid-19 deaths. Amazing that people are trying to brag about Florida and Texas failed COVID-19 response policies. https://usafacts.org/visualizations...ent=AsOfOct18maps&twclid=11458802666021208065
Right. The 0 or 1 nature of things is maddening. The real world does not operate in 0 and 1. The political or mindless mindset does.
Sadly this will be swept under the rug if it already hasn't. But they will keep broadcasting that bs about getting booster shots every 2-6 months. Well just until they've killed enough people. If it's ever enough.
