Ms. Clinton would likely be in her second term had FBI Director James B. Comey not interfered in the election, in a way that broke all precedent. That is an outcome I would have much preferred.

Traitors all of them should all go to jail as well as the ones that arranged it.

Am I supposed to feel some sympathy for this guy? An informant tells him to go in -- an 'informant' means he isn't actually FBI, just talks with the FBI. But this guy was an actual DEA agent. Are you telling me the actual government agent was being manipulated by a mere informant? And the informant allegedly urged him to enter the Capitol building, but he wasn't charged with illegally entering the building anyway -- he was charged with illegally carry his firearm on Capitol grounds and misusing his badge. So the supposed informant isn't even relevant to his prosecution.

So much to unpack. First, its an article from a UK tabloid. And tweeted by jack prosobiak. So immediately its easy to scoff at commodore's standard sources. But as you point out, they guy broke the law. Does it matter that he was a DEA agent? If anything, it would seem to make it worse.

All this, of course, is lost on commodore...

    This is actually objectively hilarious.
Falling all over one's self to get ahead of yet another obvious legal slaughter. It would be like the Texans submitting a refereeing complaint before another certain loss. :D

His trespassing was on a Federal building as part of a violent mob intent on overturning a free and fair democratic election. His sentence is well deserved.

    Actions have consequences.

People/protesters trespass on public property all the time. They don't get sent to prison for four years.

Those people aren't part of a violent mob attempting to overturn a free and fair democratic election with the mob shouting threats to hang the vice president. The circumstances surrounding his trespassing warrant the harsher sentence.

people take part in insurrections and attempts to overthrow our government all the time?

four years is the minimum each of those traitors should be getting.

i wish trumps favorite president, andrew jackson, was the one handing out sentencing. he would have personally hung every single one of those traitors on the steps of the capitol and he would have saved those who incited them for last.

People trespass on the Capital all the time? People breach the Capital and riot all the time?

Says a lot about conservatives if that's what you think....

The law and order party. Criminals should be punished harshly, unless they agree with us ideologically and then we should be showing mercy and compassion.

trump continuing to defend the indefensible... defending the January 6 trump supporters that attacked the Capital and shouted threats to hang his vice president... because they were angry that he didn't win the election and that vp pence didn't overturn the election:

Jonathan Karl: "Were you worried about him during that siege? Were you worried about his safety?"

    • Trump: "No, I thought he was well-protected, and I had heard that he was in good shape. No. Because I had heard he was in very good shape. But, but, no, I think — "
Karl: "Because you heard those chants — that was terrible. I mean — "

    • Trump: "He could have — well, the people were very angry."
Karl: "They were saying 'hang Mike Pence.'"

    • Trump: "Because it's common sense, Jon. It's common sense that you're supposed to protect. How can you — if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? — how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that? And I'm telling you: 50/50, it's right down the middle for the top constitutional scholars when I speak to them. Anybody I spoke to — almost all of them at least pretty much agree, and some very much agree with me — because he's passing on a vote that he knows is fraudulent. How can you pass a vote that you know is fraudulent? Now, when I spoke to him, I really talked about all of the fraudulent things that happened during the election. I didn't talk about the main point, which is the legislatures did not approve — five states. The legislatures did not approve all of those changes that made the difference between a very easy win for me in the states, or a loss that was very close, because the losses were all very close."
