How many years do you think it will take?

In most cases year three is where you see a significant leap.

He's got actual guards setting him up; even Wood has his off nights in this system as well. I would love Rubio or Garland giving Green easy looks

Probably more than 6% of a year. Possibly even a year or 3 years. I know... Shocking.

It is actually more 'shocking' that Porter jr. is playing like this in his 3rd year but I guess he didn't play much in his first year.

    Sure.

But neither are averaging 20/10 (Wood) or shooting 3P% at +50% (EGo) - best in NBA.

Yeah, I agree with you all there....that is what I expect as well....for all the rooks.

New position, but also, he is basically a 2nd year player - and he is having to play with rookies....he looked a TON better at the end of last year playing the point than he does now.

He was down in G League for half a season.

10 games is 12% of the year but still, point stands.

I was more doing the actual year in that it's been what... 3 weeks? So 21/365. But ya it's just semantics.

    They both played with Porter.

And while Porter played decent, he was not putting up the same numbers or as efficiently as Mobley.

And Porter was absolutely the better player between Green and Porter last season when both played in G League.

    This is not even debatable.

And JC's handles aren't that great either.

I concur, but I think it is ok to say that as the number 2 pick I expected him to be a lot further along - I mean he barely looks like an NBA player right now - I am still in shock that he is so far away - but clearly have hope, he has a lot of god given gifts, the rest will be up to attitude and hard work.

There are lots of 19 year olds that flunk out, and are gifted, more of those than that get through......

They dont know, they dont actually watch the Cavs they just look at Mobley stats. Rubio is having a career year and he's making some nasty passes to the rim. Even Allen has had 25 point nights because of Rubio and Garland both averaging near 10 assists per game with exceptional pass vision. We have no one like that on this team and Mobley would not look like that here. He would play good defense if he hasnt gotten tired of the coaches bullshit by now. And he would have some rebounds if Woods doesnt knock him out of the way trying to get them. But he would not look the way he does on the Cavs and people will never understand that system and coaching and who you have around you have alot to do with how you play. Even when you are a superstar.

I agree with that, it works conversely though as well, if KPJ was passing to veterans he would look better too......

Rubio is doing a great job, he was amazing against the Knicks, almost made that 9th 3pter at the end....he was in total command of the game and Mobley hammering 2 3pters in late helped too, Mobley is playing off the ball very well, but he has a facilitator helping him get easier shots than Green has here.

That is right, Augustine is mediocre to me, management is responsible and clearly acknowledging tanking behind curtains.

There is no way you let a rookie coach run wild with a rookie team with a conscience.

I mean, I get this is light-hearted, but I feel exactly the same way. We went through the pathetic season, the 20 game losing streak, sweated the lottery and the #2 was the shining light at the end of the tunnel. I trusted the JG pick, based on highlights, puff pieces about work ethics, and confidence in the front office (I don’t watch G-league).

Now I am being told, "wait a few years, most #2s bust anyway, whoever told you the Kobe-stuff was delusional", etc. that’s not cool. Forget about LBJ/Luca, what about Ja/Tatum/Mitchell, i.e. guys you can tell right away they’ll be great, even if not once-in-a-generational talents? This dude here is very unimpressive, but we’ll just have suck it up, wait, hope, and look for glimpses to sustain our hope. I mean what other choice do we have…

Almost 80% of Mobley's offense is currently being generated from assisted looks. Barnes has impressed me the most in that regard as nearly 70% of his offense has been unassisted. Heaven's defense has been otherworldly, but he's still been getting a lot of spoon fed easy ones out there on offense.

Mobley actually averages more PPG, AST, BLK, STL than Jarrett Allen.

And even after that stinker of a game last night, Wood has outplayed Rubio, Garland, Sexton AND Jarrett Allen.

There is no player on the Cavs who has been as productive as Wood.

    Imagine that.
