Nah, most of us will just stay here as Rocket's fans and reload, but hold the GM accountable or ****ups on draft day. DD
19 year old who only played 15 G league games last year and we want to give up on him after what 10 NBA games? SMH the only problem with Green is he has shot poorly his first month in the Association. We know he can shoot we saw it in G league and summer league. Even his FT % is down. Give him time and his averages will come up.
We all want him to succeed he is a Rocket, we will give him time - have to...no choice. Doesn't mean some of us agree with the pick, but we hope to be wrong and that Green becomes a much better player over time. DD
No one has ever claimed he has good handles. In fact it was considered as one of his weaknesses. I think you misremembered
That post was a response to the guy above me who must be blind that literally just said he has good handles.
I don’t see how you can have eyes and claim he has good handles, like those two things must be mutually exclusive, eyes/thinking Green has good handles. Or thinking Green is a good basketball player for that matter. Only the blind leading the blind could think that. Mobley, Barnes, Giddey, hell, even Sengun makes positive plays on a nightly basis, if not positive plays for entire games sometimes. Green must be one of the worst #2 picks I’ve seen in my life with the amount of negative plays that happens the second the ball touches his hand on offense and the second an offensive player looks his way on defense. He’s looking worse than I thought possible and I was as low as you can be on him predraft.
He looks just god awful, but I don’t believe for a second that he is going to be a flop. There’s too much good hidden way the **** deep down, it’s just not coming out yet. He will get there. Right now though, he’s just playing bad basketball.
So we got a streaky shooter, with bad handles, short arms so he'll be a defensive liability, and if he ain't knockin shots is absolutely useless. People want to move him to point but realize he can't have primary ball handling duties because of his inability to handle the ball. Face it folks.. Jalen Green = the wiggins, the bennets, the sam bowies
If it were only his shooting... His dribbling in traffic is bad and his defense is downright terrifying. Thankfully, yeah, he's 19, so we can excuse this but it is what it is. He's not good right now. I think maybe he's had 2-3 good games. It of course isn't fair to write him off and call him a bust but people are going to react to what they see, that's fair too.
19 year old rookies aren’t supposed to be good players overall, I get that. But at #2 is it too much to ask for just a few glimpses of potential a night? Instead he is god awful in everything he does and 2/10 games he hits a couple of threes. This is not excusable, it’s a disaster.
Exactly, like if your not shooting well then at least in even one other facet of the game do something helpful… even one! also the guy is supposed to be mega athletic but he looks slow as fk in everything he does aside from getting the ball on a fast break
The only thing he's consistently shown is he's uber athletic. Super quick, amazing hops, good agility...so there is that. If he learns how to use that he can be a problem offensively and defensively...but yeah from what we've seen I think we might see that in like 2023-24. We're going to have to be patient with this one. I hope I'm wrong and he turns it around before then. He's been said to be a hard worker and all that so only time will tell.
Like I said earlier in another thread, many of you already had your preconceived choices so Green deeply struggling as a 19 year old, TEN games in is just adding gasoline to your fire. He's on pace to break Steve Nash's 36% FG average in 1999 . Take a couple of breaths and calm the F down. Look on the bright side if Sengun Played 35 minutes and Mobley played 35 minutes, Sengun's stat line would be better.
