Steve Francis wasn't perfect, but to reach his level of recognition was a success in itself. 1) S. Francis. - Round 1: #2 pick (1999) 2) J. Green - Round 1: #2 pick (2021) 3) C. Mobley - Round 2: #42 (1998) 4) KPJ - Round 1: #30 (2019) In terms of outplaying their original draft pick expectation, Cuttino did his thing.
This is making me a bit nostalgic. Gently opens up my pitiful little Rockets cards binder. Spoiler: 1998 / 99 rockets team Spoiler: Francis I don't have too many of his cards.
My concerns are coming true... this is why i wanted Mobley... I was concerned Porter and Green would freeze out other players on offense like Francis and Mobley would... Now our best player is noticing it.... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/christian-wood-wants-more-involved-032414638.html
Unpopular opinion here, but I hated watching Francis play. Athletic as hell, but couldn't effectively run a fast break. After the game, he'd say all the right things about lessons learned, and then play exactly the same way the next game. Drove me crazy. Green's ceiling is far higher than what we ever saw from Steve.
Josh Christopher and Jalen Green are the Future backcourt Alperen Sengun and Usman Garuba in the Front Court The Rockets wanted to see if KPJ can play PG, he can't, now his future on another team is more likely.
