Yes…. They were lighting up and were key rotations players which is why we got them so cheaply…. OKC and Magic have some non rookies too…. Why no THey GrEAt?111??
Comparing Silas to the second best coach the team ever had is hardly fair. Especially when Adelman had more talent to work with. And when he went to minnesota it's not like he was lighting the world on fire either. And for those complaining about the offense, how complicated of one do you think he is going to be able to run with a bunch of teenagers? I could just imagine JVG screaming at KPJ every day until the guy is averaging 5ppg but playing "decent defense" then suddendly snapping and ending up on a booze cruise with Royce White.
No one expects them to be world beaters. They are cheap for a reason. I'm not expecting wins, this season is meant for tanking and development. It's just frustrating a little bit to watch them get playing time over guys we should be focusing on developing. That's my main issue. Did I explain myself better?
I'm starting to see why no veteran coach probably wants to coach a young team and no good veteran players really want to be stuck on a team with young players. And hell, it's been that way since "young team" meant a team full of 22-24 year olds. Now it's more like teams full of 19-21 year olds. lol.
OK, I was cautious about hating this signing at first, but now I've seen enough, the numbers are clear. No more Daniels, Danuels, Danyels, Daneels, Danoels, or Danaels. Not even any Danhels.
My gripe with Silas isn't that he's not Adelman or any other offensive genius. He can draw up the best possible plays, but if the players aren't executing properly or making open shots, those plays aren't worth a damn. My complains are geared towards his rotation and overplaying certain players.
Fair enough, I just think the expectations might be a little too much. I don't think the FO/coaching staff wants to just run a bunch of rookies out there, which is why they brought back and/or gave new contracts to some. I think vets serve a developmental purpose for rookies and I'm sure there's a hope that some vets can be flipped/be part of a larger deal.
nwaba and tate are vets, and he had them last year how he isnt got them to become a respectable FT or 3pt shooters? i mean thats the fundamentals of todays basketball if you cant shoot you are good for nothing and just like that if you cant make your players practice more and improve on shooting youre lmost good for nothing..you cant make the diference hes just not a good coach... and dont tell me its a players fault cause its on them to produce when its a coaches job to inspire motivate and make players buy in... if these players wouldnt buy in into improvement program then why he didnt vetoed their signings?
Ok, so why was he running the exact same offense with John Wall, Oladipo, Tucker, Wood etc last year? Go watch the tape, the same streetball **** we've seen this year was exactly how Dipo, Wood and Wall played last year. The excuse doesn't hold up to scrutiny, sorry.
The Daniel Theis experiment is over. Sengun/Martin are better, cheaper and have a future with the team that isn't 99% due to the bullshit ass contract they signed last summer. Daniel Theis sucks. He's making a ton of money to be objectively worse at basketball than the guys on our own roster. The posts in this thread aged like DANIEL THEIS' GAME LOLLLLLLL BADLY Come at me with your lies about how a contender will trade for him.
Lol, Dobizzles list of coaching frauds: Mike Dantony, Frank Vogel, Erik Spioestra, Ty Lue, Rick Carlisle, Steve Kerr (all needed HOF/MVP talents for success) Dobizzles list of non frauds: Billy Donovan (dragged Russ & Oladipo to a irst round exit); Scott Brooks (49 win Wizards team in 2017) Duane Casey (went to the 2nd round with PJ Tucker)
I don't even understand why you guys are so made at Daniel Theis. He's fine. He'll be a fine back up behind Sengun. He doesn't need to be traded unless we get a good offer.
