For someone who's known as a shooter... that jump shot technique is really going to be his downfall.

There were MULTIPLE times today the ball found its way to him behind the perimeter and any other shooter is straight up to launch it.

With Green's technique he cannot get the shot up quick enough on a closing defense.

He's really going to have to perfect that step back 3 creating the space.

He was playing in the drive way less than year ago. Then went to a paid camp —> g league bubble.

    give time, time.

You're kind of harsh to Green. Green is progressing really well.

That comment really isn't being harsh on him. There's plenty of things to comment on to be harsh on him.

This is just stating what is looking like a glaring issue in a shooter.

What the sniper didn't mention is that an extinct unibrowed bird with a 40ft wingspan was the defensive player closing in. John Starks had perfect form and he'd get blocked. Ideally you'd want every nba player with Curry's form but as long as they harness it and make it work. Reggie Miller, Mario Ellie, Matrix, Kidd, Clyde and our beloved KMart all had awkward form. Need Green and Porter to get to the line.

Franchise was also 22 when he entered the league. Jalen Green is going to have quite a bit more mass when he's 22 which is going to alleviate his largest weakness which is his strength.

Having that level of shot making this early is incredible.

Yeah, but you’re talking about a shooter who also is one of the fastest players in the league. He doesn’t have to beat close-outs with a higher release; he can beat them by making them stay down for fear of a head-fake drive on close outs. The more he successfully drives on close outs, the more they will stay down, allowing the shot. And this counts drive and dish scores.

Hey, we got lucky to with the 2nd pick. That is lottery luck indeed.

The ROY recognition does not guarantee you anything but a good starting contract to be honest but he would have anyway with being picked the 2nd.

He had 2 good games vs 4 rather worse games, if that is leading the conversation, okay, so be it.

I have nothing against it. Winning ROY still would not make here a major FA destination.

His technique is definitely different but I wouldn't call it bad. If he quickens up the release it definitely gives him a lot of range. It's Curry-eqsue in a sense where you can use it for really deep 3's... which would allow his game really to shine since he will have more space to use his electrifying speed.

He's going to be a star. I don't know what more people can ask for.

Wish they would use him off ball to help him get some more easy looks. Right now it looks like he’s getting most his points in isolation which is why the shooting hasn’t been up to par, he’s got a great mindset bouncing back from bad games. The playmaking has been a surprising plus, could see him as a guy that averages 5 assists just making the easy pass. At 19 years of age we’re witnessing a special talent, he’s so far ahead of the curve if he keeps progressing he’ll be unstoppable in 4 years.

I am not even that guy you should be looking to have this convo. I have no feelings for this dude nor have I any negative sentiments.

I surely do not represent said people.

What I will say is this, this team needs a real PG bad, the reason Harden sufficed was because he could facilitate.

Without facilitation, Green can't unlock his full potential, and other players cannot either. Defense is another problem.

I'm down on Green being a pg. His handles are sharpening on a daily basis. He makes the right passes everytime.

He is also far FAR more decisive than KPJ, who I like, but tends to over dribble his way into the play. Green makes much quicker decisions. Sengun and Green gives the offense a much more "live" ball feel to it. Green still needs to get better at reading outside of the pick and roll (seeing the man in the corner) but with enough reps that can come. With that being said, ultimately Rockets will likely need a true point guard to pair with Green as opposed to grooming Green to be the future PG of the Rockets, but the reps are good
