Not the best example to use right now, he's hardly setting the world alight... Do you even watch the Rockets play?

    Yes, I know.
GMs who are clueless gravitate to size, as a safety blanket.

Yes, I do. thanks for asking. I did see an improvement in his game last year after his stint in g-league, but he's definitely regressed this season (so far).

Definitely need to see a graph with a side by side comparison. Also, bonus points if you could include a graphic of a backboard with a cupcake on the rim.

Ah , I also mean age for year in school / class .

hakeem was prolly 22 when he came in .

but if you are a Big 18-19 year old playing against younger guys ... I think that prolly gets weighed against you

For sure, Wiseman could be a bust especially when compared to LeMelo. It's just super early to make that judgement. In Embiid's case he didn't even play the first two seasons and his rookie season was limited to 31 games. That same season Parker averaged 20p/6r/3a on 49% shooting so it was hard to tell that Milwaukee blew that pick until four years after they were drafted.

A player's development can go anywhere, even after a full rookie year. Tyreke Evans was drafted one spot behind Harden and won ROY handily. He averaged 20/5/6 while Harden averaged 10/3/2. It was Harden who had the HOF career.

    Oof.

Height is by far the best predictor of long term success in a draft prospect (wing span is a distant second).

The teams that have drafted the most undersized players relative to what's been available over recent history are... the Kings, and the Cavs.

Those guys totally aren't clueless. Like at all.

I have heard Green is gym rat and has great ambition and winning heart.

I just hope that is true.

JG has talked since being drafted about wanting to be one of the best ever. Up there with Kobe and MJ. He should seriously think about hiring Tim Grover to train him. Adding strength to his crazy athleticism will make him a much better player obviously, which Grover will do, but he also works on the mental side. He should invest the time and the money now. Imagine how much more money he will make in salary and endorsements if he is winning championships. Not to mention the chance to possibly be regarded as one of the best ever.

Silver lining is that Cade Cunningham currently appears to have the ceiling of Billy Cunningham (the 78 year old version today)

    Btw,

As of this moment, Cade Cunningham has played 29 minutes tonight and has scored 6 points on 2-14 shooting and is 0-9 from three point land. He has 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 turnovers.

The good news is Cade is as overrated as I thought before the draft. The bad news is, Green was the other guy I thought was overrated.

Really? kings missed once, they drafted height over Luka, therefore dooming their franchise for 10 years

Edit, what you said also completely false. Kings never missed a prospect due to drafting the most undersized player in the past decade

Cavs has done it once with Sexton, they missed out on Bridges and Shai, which aren't huge misses.

The real news is that only complete idiots make such concrete declarations on rookie ball players this early in their careers.

Made those declarations before he played any nba games actually. Just like how scouts and gms make million dollar investments on them and pass up on others, based on projections. Imagine that.
