I have no idea where folks got the idea where pickup games like the G-League helps a #2 pick like Jalen Green playing there, rather than the NBA with actual true elite talent. It's nonsense. The G-League where an average joe can literally pay to try out is not developing Jalen Green better than the actual NBA. just stop

I was Suggs camp lol . I like Barnes a lot too. I wanted to do a trade with orl for 5 and 8 and get Barnes .

iirc Barnes is a bit older than the other top 4 and I think “draft experts” knocked him for that.

How much of that is his own inexperience and how much is on his teammates being out of position because they're young too?

How much longer are we going to keep saying the same things and not holding players accountable. One of the Most common themes around here is always finding the scapegoat that doesn’t address the true issue

Why would you play in 2 leagues when you need to get adjusted to the actual elite level full time as an elite prospect. If you need g league time the mistake was taking you at #2 to begin with

Yeah, I'm not denying the true issues with this team, there are plenty to go around, and maybe you're right, he'll get better as he continues to play against real NBA talent, but that remains to be seen.

People get really impatient when it comes to top picks. The expectations to produce immediately are intense. James Wiseman is already starting to be considered a bust and he's only played half a season.

Harden and Mitchell entered the league at 20.
    Curry and Lillard at 21.

Then again, guys like Justin Jackson and Kris Dunn we’re also older guys so idk.

Did it? What did he actually learn in the G-League?

anyone with any semblance of talent will play well down there

it’s hard not to feel a sour taste when looking at the guy taken after him…

the #2 over #3 has had some historic misses:
    Bowie-Jordan
    Thabeet-Harden
    Darko-Melo
    Bagley-Luka
    J.Parker-Embiid
    MKG-Beal

I feel like Wiseman-Ball is heading in that direction. Or at best it could be one of the less drastic cases like S. Bradley-Penny Hardaway…

I view Sengun the same way. He was the MVP of the Turkish League, considered by some to be the 3rd best league in Europe. A tough league to play in and the kid was 18. I think he will pick up the NBA game pretty quickly, given good coaching and actual minutes on the court during games. I consider this draft to be a huge success just because Stone, incredibly, managed to move up and take him. It's far too early to pass judgement on Green, but not too early to do the same on Sengun, in my opinion. I feel a bit odd typing that, but there you are.

Notice how none of the busts you listed are guards?
